A fellow was peacefully sitting in front of a cave one day.
A guy that he knew came running up to him panting with a pouch of gold on his side.
He says I’m going into the cave to hide…
There are two heathens following me that want to kill me and take my gold.
The two pursuers came running up and asks the fellow if he has seen anybody come by this way.
Yes he said; a fellow I know came along wearing a pair of socks folded together on his belt proclaiming they were a bag of gold.
We know said the two pursuers who were actually medical worker.
The poor guy lives in a delusional world and thinks because the sock on his side has mass it is full of gold.
Well he continued down the road said the fellow in front of the cave. He said that because he was thinking the theory made sense and it was actually a bag of gold, even though he had seen the socks.
It wasn’t long before the fellow wasn’t hiding in caves, he was teaching his theory in schools.
Within one generation most people were wearing socks on their side, proclaiming that because the socks have mass the theory has to be true.
