Apple never goes after the major portion of the market share.. they make high end lifestyle products.. only for geeks who can afford to pay for it.. which is why you don’t see a Mac with a low end configuration! Rs 10k is just far too cheap for an iPhone. Even if you can get other good phones at these prices, Apple stuff is supposed to be very pricey.

And don’t even bother looking at the prices in the US… that is of absolutely no relevance to the price they will sell it for in India.

iphone 3g is very good. i have already seen its post release reviews. but the saddest thing is it is not released in india. even though the bookings are open it will take more time. it may hit india nxt year. but the price of it in india(around 16000 - 18000 for a basic 8gb model according to some unknown persons n some leading websites) is a bit high for the features it had at present. if it comes for the same price a it is in US, ie $200 (around 10,000) is worthwhile. but am sure that the price will be a bit high n the plan for that will also be high such that it may become a hurdle between a basic employee n apple iphone.

this is not tough to figure out the price range of the upcoming 3g iphone , you can not compare price of usa uk or any other country, because product is tied up with the service provider. this is quite sure that price will be more than 16k, becuse this is current price of ipod touch , so this will be around 20 k for sure ( ipod touch is an iphone without the phone facility but you can even surf thru wi-fi) so there will no chance that iphone price will not be lower than ipod touch , if that happens no body gonna buy the ipod touch.

Price can not be judged based on iTouch or iPod. Because iPod in US costs 50$ and 6500 in INDIA. So Price can be around 12000 as International market price is only 10,000. Sure It can not make business in INDIA if it costs more than 15,000.

One thing missing here is that in US Iphone is costing 199$ only to few elite set of population. Those who have received upgrade option from AT&T. Its like if you using some other communication provider service, then AT&T will give you upgrade option.
Here AT&T will subsidize some part of the IPhone cost. Real cost of iphone is much higher, i guess it would be even higher then 25k.
Also 3G is not something new, Already every major mobile companies in the world have 3G mobiles in market which fall under 10k -20k price bracket.
