Adobe After Effects Training
 |
Hey gang,
I'm a pretty experienced video editor and am comfortable with Final Cut and also Motion... but I've never even touched After Effects.
I'd really like to learn how to do some looks where text and objects zoom around in a huge 3D space... it's a pretty hot look right now and it's everywhere. I've just purchased after effects and I'm totally lost.
Does anyone have any training they would recommend? I'd like to find an online course or maybe a video course that shows how to do some of these things.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you are using the latest version of Motion it does that.

I'll echo Julie on the video copilot. They have a great section called After Effects Basic Training which is a great place to start. Follow all of those tutorials and then move on to his 60+ regular tutorials. He goes over a TON of different techniques and effects. I've learned a great deal at this website and it's a near daily visit for me.
Another great place is Motionworks. This guy is a motionographer in Australia, his content is a bit more sparse than the copilot's, but he still has some great tuts as well.
Be sure to hit up Aharon Rabinowitz's section at Creative Cow. He has a ton of tuts as well covering a wide range of techniques. He really does a great job of helping viewers wrap their head around the idea of expressions. The Forum at Creative Cow is a great resource too, can ask questions and get answers from the pros in the industry.
Also swing over to the AE Freemart lots of resources, free plugins, tutorials, and more to help you out there.

VideoCopilot.net is how I learned it. Chadmaag is right. Use their After Effects Basic Training to get started. It's great.
