From Digby's, the Democratic candidate is, the alpha lordlings of our press tell us, touchy

"I've never had an experience like this, with this campaign or others," Nagourney tells me. "I thought they crossed the line. If you have a problem with a story I write, call me first... But they never called. They attacked me like I'm a political opponent." [!]

and presumptuous.

Um.

I'm sorry, what color is that kettle? (Oh, wait...)

Whatevs. For some reason I'm reminded of this.

Let's go to the videotape.

Alan Grayson (Blue America, FL-08) is exactly the kind of Democrat that we need. Not a timid, cautious, capitulating, impeachment-off-the-table Democrat like the party leadership, but a don't-give-an-inch, take-no-prisoners, put-the-criminals-in-jail Democrat. Check out his great interview with Matt Stoller:

We don't need truth and reconciliation, we need punishment. We need people to be held accountable.... We'll put people in prison.

Beautiful. When I was in college, a guy ran for student disciplinary council on a platform of "Nail cheaters to the wall." I think everyone voted for him.

Except the cheaters.

Brooks attacks Obama's Berlin speech for being too full of fluffy rhetoric. But then, it doesn't seem to cross his radar that a "drift far from reality" is even more pronounced in the John McCain camp.

So let me make sure I understand. The reason to vote for McCain is because he has more foreign policy know-how than Obama, right? I mean, he's admitted that he doesn't know anything about the economy so foreign affairs is obviously where he's making his case. And on the key foreign policy issue of the day he's just changed to supporting Obama's plan, therefore admitting it's better.

The wingnuts are all afroth over Obama's decision not to meet with hospitalized veterans in Germany -- even though he did so at the Pentagon's suggestion. It's a classic right-wing setup: If Obama had visited the vets, they'd be bitching about that too.

When I first started blogging here in July of 2006 I hardly knew what blogging was. My friend Jane Hamsher asked me if I would do a play-list every week and I kind of turned that into The Spin I’m In. Well, it’s been just over two years that I’ve been writing and it’s been a blast here at Firedoglake with all of you, but most good things must come to an end.

In an interview with GRITtv, Iranian born author Roya Hakakian says that on Iran, the Democratic nominee-elect isn't saying or doing anything that hasn't been done for years. So much for change.
