Current News from the Weekly Bulletin

WE’RE UNDER CONSTRUCTION!    Demolition is now underway and we rejoice in the knowledge that we’re undertaking a building project that was birthed with God’s instructions to “build the church.” The process is expected to take ten months. There may be temporary inconveniences, but know each step brings us closer to the day we can celebrate with our whole community the blessing of expanded classroom space, new foyer, youth center for 220, children’s theater for 150, commercial kitchen and coffee shop.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATES
· Children of all ages MUST be picked up from classes.
· Lower floor entrance: enter the building through Room 131. You may also access this area from the Sanctuary through the upper annex, down the stairs and into Room 131.
· Drinking water dispenser is available in the foyer.
· Restrooms are available in the portable trailer, plus two honeybuckets near the double doors downstairs.
· Valet parking is available for those who need it.

 Safety Reminders:
· Vehicles may not drive on the fire lane.
· Lower floor entrance is a gate on the fire lane, entering the building through Room 131. You may also access this area from the Sanctuary through the upper annex, down the stairs and into Room 131.
· Upper floor entrance is a gate by the portable restrooms.
· Red DANGER tape and Yellow CAUTION tape are never to be crossed.
· Please keep kids away from construction areas. 
· The main building is a “hard hat area” and there is absolutely no admittance Monday-Friday. Please do not approach the grounds.
· During weekend services certain areas may be restricted or closed as work progresses. Thank you in advance for being flexible when class locations are subject to change.  

“Pursuit” Worship Night — This Sunday, October 5, 6:00 pm in the sanctuary. This all church worship night is a semiannual event you don’t want to miss. Invite a friend!

Pizza With The Pastors —- Are you new to Faith Assembly in the last several weeks? You are invited to be our guests and join the FAL pastors and their spouses for a time to fellowship and get acquainted. Meet this Sunday, October 5, 12:45 pm across the street in the HUB downstairs.

Discovering Faith — Do you want to understand and serve God more effectively? Trailhead, Base Camp, Approach and Summit are fun, interactive seminars that will help you grow spiritually. If you already have a workbook binder, please remember to bring it. No childcare. Sign up in the Friendship Register. Choose only one seminar. Sunday, October 26, 2:30-7:30 pm. Dinner provided.

Pastors Appreciation -- October is pastors appreciation month. We will be recognizing our pastors and their spouses in the services next weekend, October 4 & 5, so come prepared with a card or note to honor them with your thanks and encouragement.

 Kids’ Clubs NEW: once a month format!   We’ll meet the second Friday night of the month from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm starting October 10. Register now. Pick up registration forms in the Annex or at the kiosk.
Royal Rangers
— For boys in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Boys learn about God, play games, earn merits, participate in outings, go camping, and learn about all the things related to camping, such as first-aid, tool craft, fires, cooking and nature studies. See Angela Courtemanche, 413-9735.
Missionettes — For girls in Kindergarten through 8th grade, Missionettes develops Godly character. With separate clubs for girls preschool through junior high, they will experience fun, teamwork, Bible study, swim parties, sleepovers, crafts, service projects, field trips and more. See Mary Anne Stigen, 446-4497.

Fusion — Fusion is a new performing arts/discipleship group for kids in third-sixth grade. Parents and student information meeting is Monday, September 22, 5:30 pm in Room HL1. Auditions are Monday, October 6, 5:30 pm. Only 10 students will be selected. Rehearsals will be Mondays from 5:30-7:30 pm in Room HL1. See Pastor Dixie for details.

Parent Toolbox — Monthly workshop series for families of all ages. Parent Toolbox is Wednesday, October 15, 7:00 pm in the HUB. Guest speaker  Kevin Geer  presents the topic “Teaching Kids To Manage Money Wisely.” Sign up in the Friendship Register. Call the office about childcare availability.

Kids’ Clothing Bank — Open the first weekend of the month during the food bank after services at FAL’s bus garage. Free kids clothing.

Faith Journey DrawingBring your completed Faith Journal Journey tracking bookmark October 11-12 weekend for a prize drawing to local gyms. Remember to write your name and number on the back!

Journaling Next Step — Enjoyed the reading and journaling process in our Faith Journal Journey? Continue that great habit of personal time with God by reading and journaling the Book of Acts. Pick up a new tracking bookmark in the foyer.

New Book about Gleanings — “The Best Kept Secret in YWAM” tells the story of Gleanings For The Hungry, who provides millions of servings of dehydrated food each week! All this nutritious food is shipped overseas, distributed to the hungry poor by missionary and ministry partners. This is a ministry that we’ve been associated with for over 15 years and many lives in our fellowship have been touched by serving there. The book is available at the kiosk or in the church office. The cost is $15.  All profits (almost $5 per book) will be donated to Faith Harvest Helpers, our local ministry partner.

Ride the Trolley Earn a gift card to Starbucks by riding the trolley every week during the month!  On Sundays you can ride the free trolley to FAL from the extra parking area at the Seventh Day Adventist church (corner of Ruddell and Mullen.) Trolley runs on a continual loop 1/2 hour before and after Sunday services.

Couples Retreat — Pick up a brochure and registration at the kiosk; October 24-25 is a special getaway retreat at the beach for married couples.  Registration is $100 per couple for the retreat, Friday dinner and guest speakers Werner and Gabriele Rienas from Life Church in Aloha, Oregon. Additionally, you are responsible for the cost of booking your own room at the Shilo Inn at Ocean Shores. Breakfast and lunch is on your own.

New Outreach — Join the Faith Harvest Helpers outreach to Chico, CA October 20-24. A team of men and women over 18 will work on construction repair, grounds, automotive maintenance, etc. for the YWAM base at Richardson Springs. Cost $100 includes meals and lodging. Transportation is additional. Sign up in the Friendship Register. Watch for details on the upcoming informational meeting.

Save Those Shoeboxes — Please save your back to school shoeboxes. We’ll soon be kicking off Operation Christmas Child and need lots of shoeboxes for shipping. 

Fall Classes –There are many new Sunday school classes and small group opportunities starting this fall. See list for updated information on class times and locations. Additional small groups will launch at the Small Group Link Sunday, September 7 at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary.

Food Bank — Faith Harvest Helpers food bank is open weekly after services Saturday evenings in the HUB parking lot and Sunday mornings at FAL’s bus garage. This food resource is open to everyone, assorted items, while supplies last. You are welcome to take food for friends and neighbors.

YOUTH:
 WAVE meets in the lower HUB next Thursday, 7:00 pm.
 NW Youth Conference — October 10-11 at the SunDome in Yakima. Cost $120. Money due by October 5.
 Parent Night — Thursday, October 2, 7:00 pm parents are invited to join us at WAVE. Meet Pastor Justin and Angela Secrist, hear their vision for student ministries and ask questions. 

Call to Prayer — Prior to each weekend service we gather for prayer in the Annex. You are invited to join us fifteen minutes before church to pray for God’s purpose to be accomplished in our services and for a sense of His presence and anointing.
