The Groups page contains all of the information about your groups on Facebook. On the Groups page you can see groups your friends have joined, as well as navigate to your own groups, and create new groups. You can always search and browse for groups to join from this page as well.
General
You can join any open group on your networks. Also, you can join any "global" group that is open. These groups can be found using the Search page. Just type in a keyword for the group you want to find and specify that you are looking for "Groups." Alternatively, you can browse by category from the Groups page. When you find the group you are looking for, click on the "join group" link on the right side of the screen.
Some groups require administrative approval for you to join. If you try to join these groups, you will have to wait for an admin to let you in.
Finally, there are some groups on Facebook that are invitation only. You cannot request to join these. Only an invitation from a group admin will give you access.
If you are still having problems, please submit your report to Facebook here.

Below the profile picture of all groups that you are a member of, you'll see the option to "Leave Group." Selecting this option removes you from that group's member list.
These groups are paid promotions by outside companies. The sponsor controls the look and feel of the group, but does not have access to personal information or profiles. The money from these promotions, like the money from all our ads, goes towards the Facebook's server and operational costs. Sponsored groups help us keep the service free and fast.
Administration
You can invite any of your Facebook friends to join a global group. If the group is network specific (e.g., a group that is only on the Stanford network), you can invite any of your friends that are members of that network.
You can also invite friends that are not on Facebook via their email addresses. They will be able to see your group, but will have to join Facebook in order to join your group. Please make sure another person hasn’t already invited the user to the group.

Yes, people from outside networks can be part of your groups so long as the group creator specifies that the group's network is "Global." This option is set when the group is created and cannot be edited later. Global groups can have members from any network. Remember, just because someone is in the same group as you does not mean that they can see your profile.
When you create a group, you have the option of making it as open or exclusive as you wish. There are three different access levels:
Open: For "global" groups, everyone on Facebook can view the group and join. If the group is exclusive to a specific network, only the people on that network can become a member. The Wall, discussion board, and photos are all visible to anyone viewing the group. Closed: For "global" groups, everyone on Facebook can see the group, but the administrators must approve all membership requests or personally send invites. If the group is exclusive to one network, only people on that network can see the group. Only group members can view the Wall, discussion board, and photos. If you are not a member, you will not receive News Feed stories about closed groups. Secret: These groups cannot be found in searches or viewed by non-members. The name of the group will not display on the profiles of members. Membership is by invitation only. Non-members will not receive News Feed stories about secret groups.
Group administrators can change these options at any time by clicking on "Edit Group Profile."To message all members of a group as the group’s administrator, simply go to the group profile and follow the "Message All Members" link underneath the group profile photo. Please note that this option is only available for groups with 5,000 people or less.
If you have less than 5,000 in your group but are still incapable of sending a message to all members, please submit your report to Facebook here.

Unfortunately you cannot edit the network of a group once it has been created. In order for your network specific group to be a global group, you must recreate the group.
Yes, you can invite non-Facebook users into your group, but they will not be able to join until they register for Facebook. If you go to the "Members" tab of the "Edit Group Profile" page, you will see a section that allows you to "Invite People who are not on Facebook via Email." If you list your friends' email addresses, we will send them a group invitation. In order to join the group, however, your friends are going to need to register for Facebook. We will explain this process to them in the email they receive.
When viewing the profile of a group that you administer, you should see a link for "Create Related Event" below the group picture. This will lead you to the Event creation page and establish your group as the host of the event. In order to invite all the members of this group to the event, go to the Edit Guest List page for that event and click on the "Invite Members" button in the upper right of the page. Please note that this option is not available for groups that have over 1,000 members.
Sorry, but once the group is created the name can't be changed. No one wants to wake up one morning and notice that their "Chuck Norris Rules" group has been changed to the "Tony Danza Fan Club."
Our system automatically deletes groups once they're empty (no members). If you created the group or are one of the group's administrators, the easiest way to delete the group is to remove all members and then remove yourself.
If you are a group admin you can add more admins to share group privileges. Please go to the group home page and follow the link to "Edit Group Members." On the following page you can search for any current member or simply view all members if the group is small. Clicking "make admin" to the right of any current member will give admin rights to the user. Please keep in mind that any other admin in the group will have identical group privileges as you (i.e. they can edit the group, remove members, remove other admins, change group info, etc).
Any admin can add officers to a group by clicking on the "Edit Group Officers" link on the main group page. Officers don’t have any powers, but their name and "position title" are displayed on the group profile.
Once you left the group, the other members were offered the administrative position. If you view the group, you will see a list of current admins on the right side of the page. They have the power to grant administrative privileges, so you can ask them to restore your status.
Content
Have you always wanted to show photographic evidence of why you belong in the "I Love Mullets" Facebook group? Well, we would certainly like to see it. Group administrators can select if they want to allow photos to be posted on the "Edit Group Profile" page. If photos are turned on, the admins have the choice to allow either all group members or only other admins to post.
If you are allowed to add photos, you can make your contribution by selecting "Add Photos" from the main page of the group. You can select up to five photos to add at a time directly or move as many photos as you want from another album. If this is an open group, the photos will be visible to everyone who views it. The photos posted on closed and secret groups are only visible to other members. Please remember that admins have the ability to remove photos that they do not want to be associated with their group.

The related groups section is a list of groups that have the most group members in common with the group that you are viewing.
Group discussion boards are a forum for conversation between group members. The discussion board can be turned on or off by the group admin from the "Edit Group Profile" page. If the discussion board is on and the group is set to open, everyone who looks at the group profile will see the discussions. If the group is closed or secret, only members will be able to see the board.
