Facebook events are a great resource to let friends know about interesting things coming up in your community and to organize social gatherings. The Events page contains all of the important information about your Facebook events. From the Events page you can create a new event, check out relevant upcoming events for you and your friends, and view past events. For more information about Birthdays, we recommend the Birthday topic.
General
When you are invited to an event, a notification will be posted on your Home page and you will also receive a notification email. To respond to the invitation, simply follow the link in either notification and decide whether you are "attending," "maybe attending," or "not attending."
Simply go to the Events page and click the "Past Events" tab. The following page will show all of your past events sorted by most recent event at the top. Please keep in mind that you cannot edit the event times for an event that has passed.
Simply go to the Events page and click the "Friends’ Events" tab. The following page will show all of your friends’ events sorted by the event date and time.
Want to post some photos to entice people to come to your event? Better yet, do you want to post some photos that will allow guests to remember what actually happened? Event administrators can select if they want to allow photos to be posted on the "Edit Event" page. If photos are turned on, the admins have the choice to allow either all event invitees or only other admins to post.
If you are allowed to add photos, you can make your contribution by selecting "Add Photos" from the main page of the event. You can select up to five photos to add at a time or move as many photos as you want from any photo albums you already have on Facebook. If this is an open event, the photos will be visible to everyone who views it. The photos posted on closed and secret events are only visible to other people who were invited. Please remember that admins have the ability to remove photos that they do not want to be associated with their event.

Administration
You can create an event by going to the Events page and then clicking "Create an Event."
If we currently do not offer your location, please submit your request here.
Sorry, but the name of an event cannot be changed after it is created. If you have decided, in hindsight, that Lisapalooza was a lame name for your birthday party, you can always apologize to guests using the event Wall.
To invite people to your event, first navigate to the event's main page and click "Invite People to Come."
From the "Guest List" tab of the Edit Event page, simply begin typing the name of the person you wish to invite in the box in the upper right. Facebook will suggest possible matches from your Friend List. Alternatively, you can invite your friends quickly by scrolling down the Friend List provided and checking the boxes next to the names of the people you want to come. When you are done adding names to this list, make sure to click the "Send Invitation Emails" button to complete the process. If you have friends that are not on Facebook, you can invite them by entering their email addresses into the box on the "Guest List" tab of the Edit Event page. You can also look up your friends' email addresses using our Friend Finder. As an Event Administrator, you can invite more people or edit the guest list at any time from the Events page.
You can invite an unlimited number of people to events, but you can only invite 100 people at a time. Once you invite the first 100 people, you can then start inviting more. In addition, you can only have 300 pending invites at one time for an event, therefore some people will have to respond to your event invite before you can add more.
All admins can add more administrators to an event by clicking on the "Edit Guest List" link (from the main event page). You should be taken to a list of all invited guests. Next to the names of every person who has RSVPed, there is an option to "Make Admin." Admins have the power to invite more people to the event, appoint other admins, and edit event content.
Events have three different privacy options:
Open: Anyone can add themselves to the guest list without approval. They can see the event information, Wall, and photos. Closed: People need to be invited to be on the guest list. Everyone can see the event info, however, and request that the admin send them an invite. Only those people who have received an invite can see the event Wall and photos. People who are not invited will not see News Feed stories about closed events. Secret: The event can not be found in searches. These events are invitation only. People who have not been invited cannot view the event info, Wall, or photos. They also will not see any News Feed stories about the event.
To message the event guest list, simply go to the event profile and follow the "Message All Guests" link underneath the event profile photo. Please note that this option is only available for events with invite lists of 5,000 people or less.
You can invite any of your Facebook friends, and any friends that are not on Facebook via their email addresses.
Sure, we'll do anything to help you throw a better party. While on the Guest List tab of the "Edit Event" page, you will see a box to "Invite People who are not on Facebook via Email." Just list your friends' email addresses (separated by commas) and we will send them an invite. By receiving this invite, they will be given access to view the Event information. They will be able to RSVP there as well. However, they will not be able to see any other Facebook pages unless they register.
When viewing the profile of a group that you administer, you should see a link for "Create Related Event" below the group picture. This will lead you to the Event creation page and establish your group as the host of the event. In order to invite all the members of this group to the event, go to the Edit Guest List page for that event and click on the "Invite Members" button in the upper right of the page. Please note that this option is not available for groups that have over 1,000 members.
An event is deleted once all of the admins remove the event from their Events lists. This can be done on the Event Profile itself or on the Events page. Alternatively, an admin has the option to cancel an event. A "Cancel This Event" link can be found on the Event page. If you cancel the event, an email will be sent out to everyone who was invited. You have the option of writing a personal note that explains why you are canceling.
Lost? Maps show up if the event creator submitted a street and city. Additionally, if you have a current address and city in your profile, directions appear.
