Creating and Uploading

Log in and go to the Photos page. From that page, select "Create a Photo Album." Provide an album name, description and privacy level, and click "Create Album." You will be prompted to install a small application that allows easy uploading of your photos. Please click "Trust" to any prompts that appear while the application is uploading. If you are having any trouble installing or using the photo upload application, try the simple version located at the bottom of the "Add More Photos" tab.
Please follow the steps below:
Click on the "Applications" link on the left side of any Facebook page. Click on the "Edit Settings" link to the right of your Photos application listing. Click on the "Add a link below the profile picture to any profile" option.
You probably removed this link by accident. If you hover over any of the links underneath your profile picture and click on the X, you will no longer see that link on profile pages. You can get this link back by clicking "edit" next to Applications in your left navigation column. Select "Edit Settings" next to the Photos application and make sure "Add a link below the profile picture to any profile" is checked.

Also, it's possible that you completely removed Photos from your profile. In this case, you also will not be able to see the profile box that shows your most recent albums. To display this application on your profile again, click on the "edit" link next to Applications in your left navigation column. Next, click "Edit Settings" to the right of Photos. Change the "profile" privacy option for this application to any setting other than "No one" and the application should reappear on your profile page.
You probably removed the photos application by mistake. Don’t worry; any content that you have created using this application is still available. In order for you to access it again, however, you will need to re-add this application to your account.

To add this application again, go here.

After using the troubleshooting methods above, please contact us here to report any remaining issues.
Please make sure that your photo album privacy has been set to "Everyone." You can edit an album privacy setting by navigating to the album in question and clicking "Edit Photos" at the top. On the following page, please select the "Edit Info" tab.

Please also take note that if the photo resides in an album you do not own, then the owner of the album will need to adjust the album privacy. This may affect the visibility of photos in "View More Photos of Me" under your profile picture.
You can remove a photo while viewing it by clicking on the "Delete This Photo" link (right below the photo). You can also delete photos from the "Edit Photos" tab. The delete option is underneath every thumbnail.

If you want to delete an entire album, you can do so by selecting the "Edit Photos" tab when viewing the album and selecting "Delete Album."
To change the order of photos in a specific album, just go to that album and select "Edit Photos". From the Edit Photos page, click on the "Organize Photos" tab, and drag photos into the order that you would like them to appear. Click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page when you've got them in the order you want.

The album with the most recently added photo is displayed first. To change the order of albums, upload a new photo to the album you want first. You don't have to keep the photo; you can delete it and you'll still see that album first.
You can turn any tagged photo of you into a profile picture by clicking "Make Profile Picture" at the bottom-right of any photo. You will then have the option to crop the image as you like.
You can rotate photos by navigating to the uploaded photo you want to rotate and clicking the "Rotate" buttons at the bottom-right of the page.
You can change who's allowed to see your photos at anytime. There are four privacy settings that you can choose for each album:
Everyone: your friends and people on your networks can see photos in this album. Additionally, if you tag anyone in this album, the friends of the people you tag will be able to see the photos in which their friends are tagged regardless of which network they are on. All my networks and all my friends: only the people on your networks and your friends will be allowed to see the photos in this album. Some of my networks and all my friends: you can select which of your networks have permission to see the photos in this album. All of your friends will have permission to see the photos, regardless of their networks. Only my friends: only your friends can see this album. These options are specific to each album, so different levels of privacy can be selected for different types of photos. They can be changed from the Privacy page under the "Photos" section or by selecting "Edit Album Info" while editing the photos.
You can also hide specific albums from people by placing individuals or complete Friend Lists on the "Except These People" list. After navigating to the album's privacy settings from 'Edit Info,' click Customize on the privacy menu. Enter the name of a friend or Friend List into the "Except These People" list. Make sure to click "Save Changes" at the bottom once you are done making your privacy changes.

Just because people can see your photos does not mean that they can view your profile. This is a separate privacy setting found on the Privacy page.
You have friends that don't use Facebook? Weird. Facebook provides public links that allow you to show anyone your albums. When you are viewing your album, simply go to the very bottom on the page, where there is a "public link." Sending this link to friends or posting it on a website will allow everyone who clicks on it to view that album. Remember, this link will always work, even if you add photos or change your album privacy settings. Also, put your friends out of their misery and invite them to join Facebook.
From the "Edit Photos" tab, you have the option of entering captions next to each photo and "tagging" the people in your photos. To tag a photo, simply click on a person's face in the photo, and then select their name in the box that pops up. If their name is not already in the box, you can provide it. Repeat this process for everyone in the photo. If you need to tag yourself, select "me."

A note about tagging: When you tag a friend in a photo, that photo will appear in their profile. If they don't want the photo in their profile, they can simply click "remove" next to their name.

Click the "Save Changes" link at the bottom of the page once you're done with your captions and tagging.
To do this, click on the "Tag This Photo" link when you are browsing a photo album. To tag the photo, simply click on your face in the album and then select "me." Click the "Done Tagging" button at the top of the page once you've finished entering your tag.
You can tag whomever you want. While tagging your photos, if you type in the name of someone who is not on your Friend List, you have the option of listing their email address. When you are done tagging, they will receive an email that provides a link to the image. They will be allowed to see the photos in which they are tagged, but nothing else on the site unless they register.
Yes. To do this, click on the "Tag This Photo" link when you are browsing someone else's album. To tag the photo, simply click on a person's face in the photo, and then select their name in the box that pops up. If their name is not already in the box, you can provide it. Repeat this process for everyone in the photo. If you need to tag yourself, select "me." Click the "Done Tagging" button at the top of the page once you've finished entering your tags.
It is normal to see fewer tagged photos of someone in "View More Photos" than the total number listed. The tagged photos that do not appear are most likely in an album with a restricted privacy setting. For example, if your friend is tagged in an album that is visible to 'friends only,' you will only be able to view the tagged photos in that album if you are also friends with the person who made the album.
If you have permission to comment on a photo, you will see the option to "Add a comment" below the image. Simply type your comment in the text box and click on the link to "Add your comment." This comment will be visible to anyone who views the image. Please note that you can only comment on your friends' photos.
To see all the comments on photos you have uploaded, simply go to the Photos page, and follow the link to "My Photos." From that page, click the "View My Photo Comments" link.
To see all the comments on photos in which you've been tagged, follow these steps:
Go the "Photos of You" page, either from your profile page (follow the link to "View more photos of me"), or from the Photos page (follow the link to "Photos of me"). Once you are on the "Photos of You" page, follow the "View Comments" link at the top of the page. This will show you all the comments made on photos in which you've been tagged.
Simply view the photo and click the "remove tag" link next to your name. It will no longer be linked to your profile. Remember that you can only tag your friends. If you are having problems with someone constantly tagging you in embarrassing photos, just remove them as a friend (from the Friends page). If you don't want the photo to be shown at all, please talk to the person who posted it. They should be respectful enough to remove unwanted photos. Unfortunately, Facebook CANNOT make people remove photos that do not violate our Terms of Use.
You can "report" any photo that you feel is offensive (a link is provided underneath the image). Facebook will monitor these complaints and remove photos as necessary. All reports will be kept confidential.

Facebook iPhoto Exporter

You must first download the iPhoto plugin here.

After installing the plugin, open iPhoto and select one or more photos in iPhoto (you can choose more than one by holding down the shift key as you click). Then, go to the File menu (or the Share menu in iPhoto 5) and choose the "Export…" option. Click on the "Facebook" tab to access the Exporter plugin, and follow the directions on the screen.
You must synchronize the iPhoto Exporter plugin with your Facebook account by "logging in" to Facebook from the plugin. On the "Facebook" tab of the "Export" window, click on the "Login" button at the upper left corner. This will launch a new window in your Internet browser that lets you log in.

Once you have successfully logged in from the plugin, the button will change to "Logout." If you need to switch Facebook accounts, or if you are having trouble exporting photos to your account, click on this button to log out, and then you may log in again.
At this time you cannot upload photos directly to a group or event from iPhoto. Please keep in mind you can always move photos from an album to a group or event by clicking "Add Photos" and then selecting the "Add from My Photos" tab.
The Facebook Exporter plug-in for iPhoto requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later (PowerPC or Intel) and iPhoto 5 or later. Without these specifications (or better) the plug-in will not work.

If you meet these specifications and are still having trouble installing, it may be a problem with your unzipping application. Please make sure you are running the latest version of Stuffit (11 and up). Alternatively, right click (or control click) on the downloaded installer and select open with Installer (BomArchiveHelper.app), then run through the installation process as normal.
To uninstall the Facebook plugin for iPhoto please follow these directions:
Right Click on iPhoto in the applications folder, and select "Show Package Contents" Under Contents/PlugIns you will see Facebook.iPhotoExporter Quit iPhoto if it is running, then move Facebook.iPhotoExporter to the trash.

When you restart iPhoto, the Facebook tab should no longer appear under export options.
The latest version (7.1.3) of iPhoto may cause general problems with the exporter.

If you are using an earlier version of iPhoto, please try to uninstall the exporter and reinstalling it.

Please go here to download the latest version of the iPhoto Exporter.
The latest version (7.1.3) of iPhoto may cause problems with exporting photos with tags.
