Elise Bauer started Simply Recipes in 2003 as a way to keep track of what she was learning to cook from her parents. After working in Silicon Valley as a busy, eat-out-a-lot, single, technology marketing professional for almost 20 years, she found herself in her 40s wanting to cook more of the foods she grew up loving to eat.

Elise is a dedicated home cook, learning as she goes, and through her site hoping to pass on to others what she learns. She cooks almost every day with her parents, who still know more about food and cooking than Elise can ever hope to, but she's working at it.
