He is Here #1 - Watching Over Us

Psalms 139 is a beautiful passage describing the omniscient presence of God. Throughout the verses, it describes how God will always be there for us.
Early in the passage, the psalmist proclaims, “I'm never out of your sight.” For an American in a privacy obsessed world, that might not sound like a very appealing thing. But to me, it is extremely comforting. I feel secure knowing that wherever I go or whatever I do, the King of kings is looking out for me.
When troubles have come upon me, those times were also some of the most lonely I have ever experienced. When I saw friends desert me and other people shun me was when I really felt like the pressures of the world were going to be too great and they would crush me.
But through those times, I was able to find God. I sought him out and discovered that he was keeping watch over me all along. He knew what I was going through and was there to bring comfort. And even when I thought my situation seemed impossible, he was already on top of it and was bringing about a victory I could not see coming.
I have learned that in my darkest moments, God is still there. Even if everyone else seems to be ignoring your pain, God is not. He still cares for you and will be there to help you through to better days. Now if that is not comforting, I really do not know what is.
