Take Life Seriously

It is easy when we are young to think that life will go on forever and that we have plenty of time to take it easy and not get serious with our relationship with Christ or with our future. But this attitude is very short sided.
Lamentations 1:9 (Message)
She played fast and loose with life, she never considered tomorrow, and now she's crashed royally, with no one to hold her hand
Young people who say they will live the way they want to now and sometime in the future will get serious about important things are in great danger. First, those who do not consider the consequences of their actions will be surprised when those consequences start catching up with them. Everything you do has implications not only eternally but also here on this earth. Those who only sow rebellion will one day reap the consequences.
The next thing young people have to be aware of is that it is not very easy to turn off one lifestyle and turn on another. So if you think in a few years you will be able to effortlessly transition from your life of sin to a life of righteousness, you will find that is not the case. Deep rooted habits are difficult to break and the longer you live in a particular lifestyle the more difficult it will be to break away from it.
Third and most importantly is that when you live your life for yourself you are missing so much of the abundance God has for you during this stage in your life. Young people have done unbelievable things in business, entertainment and ministry while many of them were still in their teens or twenties.
So take this time you have been given seriously and think of the implications of your actions. Live wholeheartedly for Christ now and you will see blessings both today and for decades to come.
