Big Budget Ideas

n 1999, the movie Blair Witch Project took Hollywood by surprise. A movie with no celebrities and a budget of only $60,000 grossed $240 million worldwide. Its success was attributed to the suspense its creators were able to generate using only basic movie making equipment. Also released that year were several other movies, these with huge, nine-figure budgets and stars who had won countless awards. Many of these blockbusters did poorer at the box office than the phenomenon that was Blair Witch.
In life, you do not always have to have the most money, power, influence or talents to make the biggest impact. Jesus came as an unknown carpenter's son but reached the world not because of what was on the outside, but for what was on the inside. Jesus had what I like to call "big budget ideas" that would revolutionize the world.
Today, nothing has changed. We have seen it in Hollywood, television, entertainment, businesses and ministry, having the most resources does not guarantee success. Many times the most successful people are the ones with little to give, but they decide to use their small portion to its fullest. When that happens, we see big budget ideas coming from little, insignificant people.
