In addition to the in-depth analysis of the overall industry, the report is broken into specific publishing genres (Fiction, Christian Living, Bibles, Children's, etc.). Each of these sections provides extensive review on a variety of topics including top sellers, publisher market share by units and dollars, binding information, regional sales variation, and trend over time, just to name a few. This report is the result of ECPA's collaboration with Simba Information, a leading authority for market intelligence in the publishing industry, and uses the POS data collected from over 600 Christian retail outlets across the U.S.

ECPA Releases Annual Christian Retail Trends Report
Partnership with SIMBA Shows trends, Industry Analysis
The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) is releasing its 2005-06 Christian Retail Trends Report. The annual report, done in conjunction with the leading media industry intelligence and analysis firm Simba Information, shows sales trends for the Christian retailing industry and will serve those actively engaged in selling products within the Christian retail channel. The report will be released in its entirety during ECPA’s annual Publishing University in Indian Lakes, IL on November 12, 2006.
The annual report, which uses point-of-sale data collected from nearly 1,000 Christian retail outlets across the United States, is being sold exclusively to Christian retailers and publishers. As an added benefit, ECPA members are able to participate in an e-seminar led by industry veteran Jim Seybert on November 7, 11 am to 12:30 pm EST, called “Listening to the Numbers – The Story Behind the 2005-06 Christian Retail Trends Report.” Registration is free with the purchase of a printed report (or receive a $99 discount for multiple attendees per connection) . The price without the purchase of a report is $99 for individual members for the e-seminar; multiple attendees per connection pay $299. Registration is found at: www.ecpa.org.
“The Christian Retail Trends Report is a cornerstone reference manual for Christian publishers and retailers,” says ECPA’s Director of Information and Education Michael Covington. “Both publishers and retailers find value in the report for comparative and trends analysis within book and Bible categories. Each year, we see how meaningful data gives them the hindsight necessary for more accurate planning and forecasting for inventory and category management.”
This is the second year that ECPA has teamed with Simba Information and its 35-year knowledge base of the book publishing industry—built through its widely read newsletters Book Publishing Report, Educational Marketer and Professional Publishing Report. In addition to providing detailed sales breakdowns by category of Christian books, Bibles and related products, the 2005-06 report includes editorial analysis of marketing trends, future sales projections, as well as commentary and feedback of key industry publishing and retail veterans.
