At ECPA, information and research are key components to our strategic plan to serve our industry and to provide our members with the knowledge they need to understand industry trends and determine key operational benchmarks for their publishing business. Here is a list of this year’s reports:
Marketing Survey Report 2007
ECPA’s first-ever comprehensive member-based Marketing Survey Report is now available. The purpose behind this survey is to gather information from ECPA member publishers regarding their marketing practices as well as to provide back to those members a meaningful way to look at the data that will help them to determine if their companies are on the right track with their budgeted marketing resources.

Order Fulfillment & Distribution Report 2006-2007The study was commissioned through ECPA member focus groups who requested greater knowledge in this area. Fourteen publishers participated in the survey, representing a healthy cross-section of company size and business processes. The survey, conducted during the fourth quarter of 2006, comprehensively covers:

Christian Retail Trends Report 2005-2006
In addition to the in-depth analysis of the overall industry, the report is broken into specific publishing genres (Fiction, Christian Living, Bibles, Children's, etc.). Each of these sections provides extensive review on a variety of topics including top sellers, publisher market share by units and dollars, binding information, regional sales variation, and trend over time, just to name a few. This report is the result of ECPA's collaboration with Simba Information, a leading authority for market intelligence in the publishing industry, and uses the POS data collected from over 600 Christian retail outlets across the U.S.

IPSOS Christian Reader Survey 2005 – Released November 2005
ECPA commissioned Ipsos BookTrends to conduct research within data drawn from 16,000 consumer diary households. The report compares buying habits of those who read and purchase Christian books with those who do not. The detailed report also covers a variety of analysis including consumer growth rates by channel, value of customer calculations, and shopping pattern and frequencies. This is an indispensable report for marketing and sales departments.
