The first ever survey detailing the warehousing, fulfillment and distribution practices of Christian publishing houses is now available for purchase. The survey, conducted during the fourth quarter of 2006, comprehensively covers the following information:
The study was commissioned through ECPA member focus groups who requested greater knowledge in this area. Fourteen publishers participated in the survey, representing a healthy cross-section of company size and business processes.
Initial observations indicate that while larger companies tend to be more efficient with technology, smaller houses do a good job of focusing on order accuracy and turn around time as well. Additionally, there appears to be a much higher return rate for overstocked product for higher volume publishers than for smaller suppliers.
ECPA members who did not participate in the report can purchase the report for $599. The cost for non-members is $1,199. (If your company participated in the survey, you will automatically receive a copy of this report at a reduced rate.)
