Ancestor Chart

Visual display of a section of the GO directed acyclic graph (DAG) for a single GO term. Terms in the GO are linked to parent (more general) terms and often to child (more specific) terms by one or more 'relationships'

All GO terms displayed in this graph can be right-clicked to display term definitions and child (descendent) terms.

Chart

Ancestor Table

Alternative display of a section of the GO, providing a concise view of the relationships connecting GO terms

All GO terms displayed in this chart can be right-clicked to display term definitions and child (descendent) terms.

Help: filtering, analyzing and downloading annotation

1 Filtering Annotations
The filters beneath each of the column headings in annotation table can be clicked to specify filtering parameters, or to map annotations to sequence identifier types other than UniProtKB accessions. More advanced queries can be entered into the 'Advanced' text box.
2 Viewing Annotation Statistics
Statistics on the selected annotation set are available in the numbers adjacent to the 'Statistics' header.
3 Viewing Annotations
The annotation table defaults to displaying an initial 25 annotations, however this can be increased by changing the value adjacent to the 'Sample size' header. Alternatively, clicking the arrow at the bottom of the annotation table will advance the display to the next 25 annotations. Many of the values in the annotation table can be clicked on, and will provide further information and navigation options (this includes GO terms and sequence identifiers).
4 Downloading Annotations
An entire set of annotations can be downloaded in a text file from QuickGO by selecting 'Association format'. Users can select the file compression option (gzip) and the number of annotations to include.

GAnnotation?format=tsv&limit=max-number-of-rows{&gz}{&q=advanced query}{&field=value{,value}}
Any number of fields can be specified, they will be AND'ed together. Any number of values can be specified for each field, they will be OR'ed together. Values should be URI encoded. Advanced query syntax and valid fields are listed in [image] advanced search . Advanced query may only occur once and will be AND'ed with any other query criteria. Downloaded data will be in association format. The file will be truncated if more than the specified number of annotations are found. The file is roughly 70bytes/annotation (not gzipped). The file will be gzipped if the gz parameter is supplied. Sample clients are available in: java | bash | perl

Statistics

Co-occurrence statistics

This display shows those GO terms which have been annotated to the same proteins as this term.
Terms may have been co-annotated either by electronic (IEA) or manual annotation methods. Users can decide which evidence code type should be used in the calculation of the co-occurence statistics.
Click on the 'Update' button to run the co-occurence calculation
