Amazing Weekend

In the 16 year history of our church, there are certain moments that stick out - high water marks on the life of HPC. Some that come to mind are the first Easter Sunday that we had 72 people in church, Extreme Church weekend, Beautiful Morning CD recording and the year-long, all-church focus to the people affected by hurricane Katrina just to name a few. Last weekend was one of those high water marks for us.

Chris Caine
Chris Caine bringin’ the house down for Kingdom Builders.

It kicked off Saturday morning with our Kingdom Builders breakfast. Christine Caine brought the word from down under and really challenged us as a church to stay committed and sacrifice for the kingdom.

Kingdom Builders
The new HPC Arena. So much space to impact so many for Christ.

We then got to take the first-ever HPC Arena tour as a church. Incredible! Thank you to everyone who came out on a Saturday morning and battled the South Louisiana heat for the Kingdom builders breakfast!

Chicken
Cane’s chicken at the weekend services. Check out those gallons of sweet tea!

But it didn’t end there! In honor of having Nick and Chris Caine with us, we served Cane’s chicken fingers after every service. You know it’s God when you walk out of the 8 AM service and get some fried chicken and Texas toast! We served 12,000 chicken fingers over the weekend! Chicken and church. What a combo. Thanks to the whole team who put this weekend together and pulled it off. Great weekend at HPC!

Sounds like the weekend was a blast!

Nothing like feasting on God’s Word and some good Fried Chicken!

I was on the Caine’s site the other night. Looks like they got it going on for the Lord!

It was an amazing weekend. Unfortunately I did not get to hear Christine Caine speak, however we were there servin’ it up St. Amant style with Blue Sushi. Our St. Amant Blue Sushi class was able to serve along with Highland’s Blue Sushi. The kids were so excited about being a part of a Highland event for our first service outreach. They loved giving out chicken bicuits, juice, fruit, and cleaning up the sanctuary. It was great! By the way I hope you enjoyed your ‘Holy Ghost’ peach cobbler….

The entire weekend was just what i needed. Christine Caine always pours into me and got me started with a message that was the exact thing i had been dealing with last week, a negative mind. at one point, the Holy Spirit almost brought me to my knees. The tour of the “magnificent cathedral” was another moment in time that i knew would never be duplicated. Our church body under this roof for the first time, climbing to the top seat and looking down. You knew no camera could catch it just like a beautiful sunset or a mountain view. You can only catch the view in your heart. Then there’s more! Her message about the relay race. Everyone is a significant part in the game of life. I have been in a hard press work situation for the last couple of weeks but i took the time to participate in the weekend and i am so very glad i did. My mind, heart and soul needed a recharge! thanks to our team for always trying to make these events so special. I hope all the ladies are psyched about conference. It will be here before you know it and i know from experience it can be life changing.
