Caleb Domingue, Shaun Alexander, and Dylan (my son)
Shaun Alexander - got to meet Shaun Alexander and his wife Valerie last week. Shaun was a great running back in the NFL and is an even greater man - a Jesus-lover and has a heart full of compassion. They came for a visit to check out the Baton Rouge Dream Center and just to connect. Really cool couple.

What do you do with 123 teenagers in summer? Send them to the poorest part of town to make snowballs to give away free to help get the word out about an upcoming block party.

Twitter - I just started doing twitter - an online messaging network - check it out at http://www.twitter.com. Pretty cool deal. For those of you who are twittering, look for me under “dinorizzo” - would be cool to see you there.

And check out this recap video from Submerge summer camp. God was there.

Submerge 2008

Wow - Submerge - like a crazy A.D.D. spiritual yes GOD environment

I’m sitting in an oasis of hope for the next 20 years (I pray). The oasis is called “Submerge Student Ministry Camp” with 4 churches. 650 hearts are in this room - wow. There may not be a more important experience and investment that a church could make than into these moments of freedom. I have much anticipation for what may come out of these 79 hours spent at Panama City Beach. I wanna give a big ol’ shout out to Lance and the super team working behind the scenes. Also thanks to all the churches partnering and the tech team - out the park - all the youth guys, leaders, volunteers, speakers, all-pro mix of worship guys and girls, and, and, and those parent’s who said “yes” to this investment.

Wow. I pray they - no we will never be the same. Thank you.

Hey Lance - can’t wait till next year!!!

If you went to Submerge, leave a comment and lemme know what you thought.

One Prayer Devotional

We, and 1,400 other churches across the world, are right in the middle of the One Prayer series. It has been really cool to check out the One Prayer blog and see the really cool daily devotionals by some participating pastors. I was honored to be able to write today’s devotional. Check it out.

Two Crazy Cajuns in the Wall Street Journal

This past Friday, the Wall Street Journal ran this story about churches with campuses overseas - pretty cool article. What I really thought was interesting is how they spotlighted some really phenomenal churches around the country with some great pastors - and then there were these two crazy Cajuns in the list: Celebration Church in Jacksonville (my great friend Pastor Stovall Weems - a Baton Rouge native), and… oh ya, sha, dat’s it, Healing Place Church.

I promise you, our mommas never saw this one coming.

Geaux Tigers!

New Worship CD Project Coming June 28

It won’t be long now (less than two weeks!!) until the next release from Healing Place Music - this one from Epic - our combined student ministries worship team. I’ve heard the CD and I can tell you this much - it’s going to be one you wanna get copies of for your friends and family. Such a touch of God on the whole CD.

June 28 is the day it comes out. Pray with me that it will bless a whole lot of people and that it will serve to help people find hope in Jesus. That’s what it’s all about.

Also - I just wanna remind you about the upcoming Submerge Summer camp for Jr. High and High School students. We’re partnering with the amazing people of Celebration Church in Jacksonville for what I know is going to be an incredible time with a ton of young people. It’s gonna get crazy.

It’s not too late to get in the mix - but you’ve gotta hurry - camp starts this Friday! Check out the Submerge page for more info.

Innovation All Around

A few days ago, I had the privilege of speaking at a men’s breakfast for the Louisiana Church of God Camp Meeting. Bishop Bill Isaacs is the Louisiana Church of God overseer and is doing great things. He and his son Jason Isaacs, teaching pastor and worship leader at River City Worship Center in Louisville, Kentucky, run a cool site called Forward Leadership that you should check out. I got to sit down with Jason and do a little Q and A session for a podcast to go on the Forward Leadership blog. You can listen to that here.
I am constantly intrigued by how God speaks to people through innovation and creativity. Whether it is the One Prayer series that we and 1,400 other churches are doing together, blogs, podcasts or a small congregation that gets together for a creative missions fundraiser - it all tells me that there are still millions of ideas to be searched for and unleashed to advance God’s Kingdom.
