Metro to launch MMS classifieds service

Metro, the free UK newspaper, is about to launch an innovative MMS classifieds service.

The system will allow users to send classified ads, with images and text, for publication in the newspaper and online. Powered by Mobiya it will allow users to take a photo of an item with their camera phone and input it directly into the system.

According to Mobiya classified advertising is big business with a $100 billion global market. Making it easier for customers to take photos and upload them via camera phones is a great way to inject growth into a static market and steal back users who have migrated to online classified sites such as eBay.
