The possibility of a mobile phone that charges while you walk around might seem far-fetched but according to M2E Power we might see devices featuring kinetic batteries on the market as early as 2009.

The M2E Power company was created last year to investigate how kinetic engery could be harnessed to power batteries in small commercial devices such as mobile phones as well as cars and military devices. According to their website this technology isn’t far away from market:

We are living during a time when we truly understand that every action that we take has a global impact. Tailors Douglas & Grahame are attempting to fill a niche in the market with the announcement of a fashionably cut suit with in-built radiation protection system.

The suit looks just like a normal gents suit and can be dry cleaned and worn to the smartest business meetings while protecting the wearer from the everyday electromagnetic waves given off by mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, WiFi and laptops.

There are numerous environmental concerns that come up when talking about our cell phones. Manufacturers Prepare For Enviro-Friendly Future

Green is the new black for 2008, at least if you follow the gathering momentum from industry leaders, entrepreneurs and designers to place more emphasis on environmentally friendly production in new technologies. The first ever Greener Gadgets Conference, which took place in New York City on the 1^st of February, showcased a range of technologies and principles designed to do just that. Highlights included a methanol-based fuel cell mobile device charger prototype, a wind/solar powered device charger and more straightforward solutions such as reducing the amount of printed material in offices.
