Crazy Cranium Creations

Your phone isn’t the only cool thing you can press against your head. It might sound odd for a phone site to tell you that, but all manner of wonderful things have been built to press against your face and some are so awesome or terrible that we just have to tell you. Here we look at some gaming gadgets that really put your head into a different world.

1. The Atari Mindlink System

mindlink_image.jpg

As far back as 1983 Atari were trying to project gaming brains into the screen. If you just said “Wait a minute, there wasn’t any mind reading technology in the 80s” the congratulations - you know more than Atari did. There was nothing even like mind-reading technology back then. In fact, even getting a computer to notice you via buttons was considered … continue reading "Crazy Cranium Creations"

Top Ten Mobile Phone News Stories of the Week - 17th October.

This week we have news concerning the Android G1, including the potential UK release date, more BlackBerry Storm goodness, the latest Prada phone from LG and several exciting new phone releases! Sit back, relax and read on…

1. Storm captured on Video.

This is no badly focused mess made with a mobile either, this is an official Vodafone video showing off the extremely impressive BlackBerry Storm user interface, which we reviewed this week. For their first touchscreen attempt, it’s looking very polished indeed and we suspect there maybe some Apple execs nervously shifting in their seats when this goes on sale.

2. LG Prada II is Official!

The first LG Prada was a brave attempt to bring touchscreen goodness to the masses and it was a little hit and miss, although far better than most others available at that time. LG have now announced their second Prada collaboration and this time it has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera, HSDPA 3G and Wi-Fi. It’s out before Christmas too.

3. G1 Out In UK Soon.

Blackberry Storm REVIEW! : New BlackBerry Storm : Blackberry Storm 9500

blackberry-storm-1.jpg

The new BlackBerry Storm is probably RIM’s most important phone release since the first Pearl became available back in 2006. Why? Because like the Pearl, which introduced the business orientated BlackBerry brand to the consumer world, the Storm represents another first for RIM, the introduction of a touchscreen handset with a brand new interface ready to take on the current smartphone darling, Apple’s iPhone 3G.

Originally known as the BlackBerry Thunder prior to the official announcement, we received word of its imminent release on October 8th when the Storm 9500 was confirmed for Europe – incidentally, the Storm 9530 is the version to be sold in the USA – and word is the BlackBerry will be on sale from … continue reading "Blackberry Storm REVIEW! : New BlackBerry Storm : Blackberry Storm 9500"

After receiving the message Weinstein thought: “There has to be a law against something like this”. … continue reading "The $7 million Text Message Farce"

Christmas Storm - Blackberrys New Touchscreen Smartphone

blackberry storm.jpg

The Blackberry Storm was officially announced yesterday in the US by Vodafone and Verizon Wireless which have joined forces for what they believe is going to be an iconic change in the world of smartphones, as well as for Blackberry. Up until recently, Blackberry’s design team has always leaned towards a more conservative and cautious design, but we saw a dramatic change with the recently released Blackberry Bold. The Bold has clearly taken into consideration that smartphones are more than just a business tool and with the growing popularity of the Blackberry, it was about time that they came out of the box. … continue reading "Christmas Storm - Blackberrys New Touchscreen Smartphone"
