Oh Me, Oh My
Posted in: Church Planting, Harmony ChurchJust got back from worship band practice. It’s the first real practice the band has had, and they already sound incredible. The talent Christ has brought together in our small little group already is amazing. They’re hammering out a few original songs by Mike Etheridge, our worship leader, and we’re incorporating worship into our Echo Groups for the first time on November 11th. It’s going to be a blast!
Also, we’ve had a huge increase in website hits this week, due primarily to our passing out and posting 100 flyers and 100 business cards on campus and in the Uptown Greenville area. Lots of premier real estate for flyers out there. 30,000 pairs of eyes cross Uptown every day. Maybe some saw our flyers! It’s going to be awesome!
I’m really looking forward to the journey!

Here’s some random thoughts from last night’s Echo Group:
Had two new visitors: it was great to have them! Had a great turn out. I’m real excited for what Christ has in store for us in the coming weeks. This new format is really working: Sunday nights at 6pm, with a Bible Study. We should’ve started with this…. Had a great time talking about the Kingdom of God, and what it means for us to live intentionally within the Kingdom of God. The food was awesome, but we ran out of gas on the grill, so I called an audible and we cooked on the stove. Turned out just as good. Had fun playing the Wii and watching the Office before and after. In an effort to remain confidential, let me just say, we are seeing some major life transformation going on already! Praise Christ! The resources page will be available on the website soon.
I’m really looking forward to Tuesday night when we are swarming the downtown and campus areas with flyers.

Another week, another study in the women of Genesis. Here’s the quick rundown, with some articles and resources.

Should/can women work outside of the home? Absolutely. Rachel does it here. The Proverbs 31 woman does it as well. But ladies should also have the option to stay at home if they wish. And homemaking/childrearing should be their first priority. What are some of the Leahs of our culture: things that we have to marry along with our lovely bride. Some off the top of my head: previous debt, in-laws, bad characteristics of one another. Even though Leah is outcast because of her appearance, God still loves her. And to make Jacob love her as well, the Lord gives her children, and not Rachel. God is not showing favorites here by doing this, He is showing justice. Rachel and Leah, because of a battle of pride, not of children, bring their husband and indeed themselves deep into sin, just as their forefathers have done. Rachel and Leah follow their inheritance. We should too: our spiritual inheritance. Ephesians 1:11-14.
