About The Vendor Directory
The Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee is committed to hosting a vibrant and energetic 2008 Democratic National Convention that showcases the West and the Denver Metro Region business community while reflecting the rich diversity of the state of Colorado. As part of this effort, working in conjunction with the local business organizations and community leaders that make up our Business Outreach Committee, the Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee is pleased to offer this online vendor directory as an opportunity for businesses in the Denver Metro Region and surrounding areas to communicate information regarding their businesses to the many guests expected to travel to Denver for events surrounding the Democratic Convention – August 25 – 28, 2008.All vendors licensed in the state of Colorado are eligible to participate in this vendor directory. Interested vendors are invited to apply for a listing by following the application links at the top of this page. A list of the general categories of work anticipated to be in demand during Convention week is included in the directory Application Form, although vendors offering other types of work are also welcome to participate.
Denver Metro Region businesses owned by minorities, women and persons with disabilities are highlighted in this directory, and searches will automatically default to these three categories. Businesses that fall within one of these three categories may either self-identify as such during the application process or provide information about any federal, state or local business certifications they have in these areas. Information regarding what qualifies a business as minority-owned (MBE), as woman-owned (WBE) or as owned by a person with a disability is included in the FAQ section of the directory site.
This is the first time in the history of the Democratic National Convention that the vendor directory is being offered entirely online in an electronically searchable format, permitting users to search by specific criteria and allowing the Host Committee the ability to continuously update the information that is included. The directory may also be downloaded in its entirety into a printable format – although the information that is included in these downloads may change on a daily basis.
Instructions for searching the directory are included at the bottom of this page. In addition to identifying businesses owned by minorities, women and persons with disabilities, users of the directory are also offered the ability to search the directory by category/type of work and by keyword, as well as to search for union-run or veteran-owned firms. In the coming weeks, we also hope to offer the ability to certify businesses as green/environmentally friendly companies and to allow users to search by this designation as well.
While users of the directory are advised that the listing of a company does not imply any guarantee or endorsement, we are proud to note that all companies in the directory have signed an affidavit to deliver BLUE RIBBON CUSTOMER SERVICE..
We hope that vendors and Convention consumers alike will find this directory a useful tool in the months ahead as we work together to plan and produce a Democratic Convention that will make us all proud.
