And funny as hell. I love those female comedians who were trailblazers--it took a lot of nerve, IMHO, for her to play such an unlikeable character on the Mary Tyler Moore Show, and risk getting typecast, if it hadn't been for her talent. She's wonderful.

She also loves animals (further proof of her excellence as a person, in my book). It's great that she and the Humane Society have endorsed Obama.

there would have been no question in my mind. I'd have known she'd be for Obama. :)

Her fellow Golden Girls alumna, Rue McClanahan, has also endorsed Obama.
