Mozilla mail imports .pst files!
Awesome.!! Half the reason I'm still using Outlook is that I could never figure out how to get my mail out of .PST files into something reasonable like an mbox. One reason to get off PST is this: whenever I archive a PST file to CD, Outlook won't read it back in - it tells me I don't have the permissions. Note that it will read PSTs from ZIP drives or if I gzip the PST first and then archive it and unzip later.
I'm so thankful for this. Moz is now my default browser.
From the people that brought your Citeseer: NewsSeer. With all the hoopla about Google news, how did i miss this?

This week has been a blur of XSLT sheets and openoffice templates.
We've been generating Openoffice documents from XML data feeds all week. XSLT, is ... XSLT. I'm glad I don't use it on daily basis.
Openoffice however is remarkable. I was expecting a junk XML format with indecipherable floating point numbers, urns, and cryptic tags. Not at all. Oo has a very clean XML under the hood. Once you get your head around how styles work it's straightforward to generate Oo documents. Oo uses the Zip file format. I understand this was the subject of much debate - but it seems like a great idea to me at the tail end of a week hacking it. It makes the documents easy to manipulate.
When I think about stuff like postscript, Tex, nroff and Docbook, well... who would have though publishing could be fun? I thought Oo was just an office suite. Now it looks like a document publishing format that has a wysiwyg editor throw in for good measure.
Spent Monday to Wednesday in Propylon Labs. We had to generate a lot of XSLT in a few days. The labs are in Enniscrone, which is a beautiful place indeed - even if it did snow!
Religion is what the common people see as true, the wise people see as false, and the rulers see as useful.
And why not?
I've spent a few weeks with Blogger and Greymatter. Blogger requires pro to be useful and Greymatter while having a very nice UI seems to have a bug with its frontpage - it keeps reverting back to its default main page. Otherwise its a great app.
I was enjoying MT. Until I tried to import from GM. That was a bust. The import munger failed on some dates (they looked valid to me!), so I had to remove some entries. Then all the imports appeared as one day's entries - *sigh*. I'll do it by hand
