Defending the Truth - About us
My goal in creating defendingthetruth.org is two fold. First, I wanted to create an information center for those who would hear. With so many false
doctrines being created daily, those who are not grounded in the word of God through years of diligent study can find themselves blown about like
a boat adrift on the waters of deception created by whimsical minds that refuse to accept Gods true word. To those who will listen, it is my desire
to prevent deception among many brethren being led astray. The damage and harm inflicted upon the church by doctrinal fads can not be
measured.

I am also a witness, too often, of many spiritually immature organizations and websites that are vehement in nature, lacking in Biblical knowledge
and attacking what they do not understand. Their efforts are futile resulting  in division in the church and a waste of time invested in attacking non
essentials. I understand too well that it is not the Christian's duty to separate the tares from the wheat , but we are not called to be silent while a
different gospel is being preached.

Second, after years of witnessing the decline of the ability to teach sound, biblical doctrine from the pulpit a void has created a need for biblical
teaching. Unfortunately many church leaders are conforming the word of God to their own ideology rather than conforming their lives to the word
of God. In todays world it is difficult to find a biblically structured church that teaches sound doctrine. I hope to provide resources that equip and
promote continual growth and learning. The study of Gods word and attaining the knowledge there of, is a life task. Contributing factors to obtain
knowledge of the scriptures should include the study of history, original languages and theology. These studies and disciplines are essential in
promoting growth and understanding, however, they can not compare to the word of God but only serve as tools to aid in our study
OF Gods
word and how we apply biblical principles and truth to our lives.

Defending the Truth supports Missionary Work
Did you know that the majority of missionary funds received by the church in today’s society is
used not in the mission field but directly benefits the church which receives the funds.  I am
amazed at how many churches preach about missions & the need for volunteers only to discover
that there is a list of prerequisites one must fulfill. Do you have a college education? And how will
you be supporting yourself when on international missions?   So, I guess I have to be well
educated & wealthy to go on missions, however I agree missionary's should be grounded in the
Word of God. I don't understand how a church can send people out, tell them to pay there own
way and still take up collections for missions. Where does that money go? I am speaking of long
term missionary work. Jesus commanded us to do this, "the great commission". Jesus didn't say
get a PhD in theology, become wealthy, financially independent & then go spread the word.
Jesus said  “
I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make
disciples of all the nations,* baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the
Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be
sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age
.” (Mathew 28;18-20)

Missionary work should be primarily focused on spreading the gospel and then followed up by
discipling the people (teaching them & edifying them in the word). Christian charity and love
should always be displayed
.

ALL funds supporting this missionary work is used for Bibles, spreading the gospel and
humanitarian aid. The missionary workers are volunteers. If you would like to support missionary
work please submit your interest in the comment form.
