Pros: -- I installed it at my Windows xp without any problem just the first setup is not enough you need tv setup aswell. - great remote control -also the RCA cable included for video and tv connection
Cons: - it comes without antenna so I need to by a separate product - at usb sometimes disconnect -the reception is not the best quality -it is ONLY analog tv tuner so no Digital DVB-t receptions in this case you need to be careful
Other Thoughts: - worked fine in 3 country as well
Bottomline: buy it if you want an analog tv tuner, for that it a great product
Pros: - Works fine as a TV tuner (not the best reception, but that could just be my antenna) - Excellent piece of device if you have to connect video to it -- I've converted many VHS tapes to DVD using this.
Cons: - When this device is plugged into the front of my USB port, the cable does put a little bit of stress on the tuner, pushing it downwards all the time. This could cause the connection of the USB tuner to the USB port to become loose over time. - as with other reviews, scanning can take a while to complete but you only need to do this once
Other Thoughts: When I bought this some time ago, I got the red one. I noticed that this now comes in a different appearance, so I don't know if it is much of a difference to the one I got. I also have another branded tv tuner, and I can say that this is more sensitive to the RF signal than the other tuner. The other tuner intermittently cuts off reception.
Bottomline: Bottom line, if you just need to watch TV on your laptop or computer without being particular about super clear quality, then get this. Otherwise, get a HD tuner.
Pros: Small size, good price, cute box packaging, sound passes through usb cable (so you don't need to have line in!) also very easy installation (tried on 2 systems one amd and one intel without any problems at all) and with remote control working just fine. The program can capture in wmv and mpeg format (for best quality results use mpeg)
Cons: * Not DVB-T capable (as the chip spec does not support digital decoding) Big problems that i found : * The picture quality is not very clear (seams a little upscaled) * From time to time makes same strange distortions * crackling sounds when the audio from the channels is loud * No always on top function !!!! * Scan makes long time to complete but makes very precise tuning * Irrelevant usb cable inside !!!
Other Thoughts: Characteristics given by DE is false the right specs are (can be read on the box) * Interface: USB2.0 * TV Tuner: Xceive XC2028 silicon tuner * Chipsets: Trident TV Master 5600 * Video Capture Rate: 25 frames/second (PAL), 30 frames/second (NTSC) * TV Standards: NTSC_M/J, PAL_B/D/I/M/N, SECAM_B/D/K * Audio Support: Mono
Bottomline: If you want a cheap usb analog portable tv tuner for your laptop then this product is for you. If you want a analog capture or tv tuner with good picture and capture quality forget this product.
Pros: Really easy to set-up, comes with software and USB extension cable. The image and sound are excellent the same quality as on the TV.
Cons: channel scan takes a few minutes to complete but you really only have to do it once.
Other Thoughts: I have purchased the red and grey unit they are nearly the same as the ones they are selling now.
Bottomline: This little device is well worth the money. The cheapest brand name USB TV tuner was around 100$. DX has once again come though for us with a quality product at an unbeatable price.
