Key Bible Verse: Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you (James 4:7-8). Bonus Reading: Ephesians 6:13-18
Corrupt police often extorted money from the innocent when my former pastor lived in Mexico. His friend's powder-blue minivan clearly belonged to a Yankee. And that meant money for beer.
One day the two arrived in that minivan at a traffic light stuck on red. A policeman was waving traffic through the intersection, so they proceeded across. But then the officer pulled them over and ticketed them for running a red light!
My pastor friend mentioned this abuse to a government official he knew. The official chuckled and gave him his business card. He was feared, not for the position listed on it, but because he was reputed to be the nation's chief spy. "If an officer pulls you over illegally," he said, "show him this."
My friend soon encountered a policeman demanding money to avoid being fraudulently ticketed. "My friend said I should show you this card," he grinned. "He said you'd get the message." With a horrified expression, the officer waved my friend along.
Satan has bullied God's people for too long. Pull out your I-mean-business card to remind the accuser Who you know!

Prayer for the Week
Give me the resolve, Lord, to block Satan's accusations by citing my justification through Christ, and his deceptions and enticements by focusing on You.
