This is an absolutely wonderful and inspiring book that all mothers need to read. They will get so much encouragement from the wise words that God has given to Keri, and thankfully she is sharing that knowledge with us. Our bible study group started with this book in September of 2000 and we are still looking for another study just as good....it hasn't happened yet! Also, it is an excellent book for our secular readers who are just trying to make some sense of their parenting responsibilities and woes...read it and pass it on to all your friends...that is what I have been doing and everyone has been so inspired by it! Thanks to Keri for hearing God's calling in her life and having the courage to write this book...His purpose is being fulfilled...so many of us are being touched by God because of it!

    Tell us a little about yourself.  I'm a work-at-home mother of two young kids (now 4 and 6). I wrote the book when they were very young. I'm married to a wonderful man, Scot. We attend Willow Creek Community Church.

    What was your motivation behind this project?  My passion is for spiritual transformation, to shepherd people into a deeper walk with Christ. I wrote this book so that I would remember this season of my life, and the things God was teaching me in it. I hope to encourage other parents, to remind them that spiritual growth is possible in any season of life.

    What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  Encouragement, but also, motivation, to be intentional about inviting Jesus to be with you in the midst of the sometimes chaotic world of family life. I want them to know they can grow spiritually and that God cares deeply for them.

    Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Lee Strobel is a mentor of mine as a writer. Dallas Willard has inspired and taught and helped me so much. Richard Foster's writing has also been a big influence. John Ortberg, my pastor, has encouraged and led me to a deeper spiritual life. Ruth Barton, fellow InterVarsity Press author and my small group and ministry leader, has had a huge impact.

    Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Spiritual growth is not about how many times you manage to squeeze in a "quiet time" each week. Rather, it's about inviting Christ to be a part of every part of your life. Caring for young kids can be an opportunity to grow, if you let it. Also, you matter to God. He cares deeply for you, no matter where you are at in your spiritual journey.
