Hannaspree Announces Unique New Line of LCD TVs

Hannspree is a new entrant in the consumer electronics market, launching a lineup of unique LCD TV models to suit any room and home.

Targeting the ‘digital lifestyle’ market, Hannaspree is launching dozens of LCD TV models, ranging from sleek european looks, to kids-oriented units, to sports units. They come with a higher-than-average pricetag, as would be expected of such unique creations.

Overall feature sets seem to match with reasonably advanced LCD TVs. The 15″ units have 1024x768 resolution, 16ms refresh, 500:1 contrast, 500 nits brightness, and 150-degree horizontal view angle. In addition, they pack both computer/vga input as well as a multi-input for composite/s-video/RF. Throw in DCDi for improved visuals from standard definition television signals, and 10-bit gamma, and the images are likely well above average. Most come with dual 2W speakers and SRS WOW audio as well, and a remote control.

The 23″ units also pack 500:1 contrast and 500 nits brightness, but are full widescreen HD units with 1280x760 resolution and slower-than-average 25ms response. Like many larger units, they have two composite, two s-video, two component, and one DVI-HDCP video connection. Plus, the speakers are upgraded to 5W per channel, and a whole host of audio enhancement technologies. Like the smaller units, the 23″ models include DCDi image enhancement and 10-bit gamma processing and correction technologies.

Even the smaller 12″ and 10″ units seem to be reasonably packed with decent feature sets, some above-average, some below. Definitely worth a look if you’re in the market for something unique in LCD TVs for yourself or your kids.
