ViewSonic New Xtreme ClearMotiv LCD Monitor Lineup

The new displays are claiming an Xtremely fast response rate, targeting video playback and gaming markets head-on – and they have the potential to seriously capture the gamer audience.

ViewSonic Xtreme VX924 4ms Refresh LCD Display

The new VX924 (due in May) and VX724 (due in June) are the first consumer displays we’ve heard of to offer super-high 4ms average gray-to-gray pixel response rate (and 5ms ‘typical’), which should make them capable displays for even the fastest FPS shooters on a heavy-modded gaming rig. Imagine that you can finally keep above 100fps (heck, typically should handle up to 200fps!) without dropping a frame, making it perfect for the frag-addicted in need of desktop space.   ; )

The VX924 is a 19″ LCD, with 1280x1024 resolution, 160-degree viewing angles, 270 nits brightness, and 500:1 contrast, normal/reasonable stats for a higher-end display. It has both VGA and DVI-D inputs, and buttons for switching back and forth between the two if you want to connect multiple computers. It comes with both the VGA and DVI cables, so you don’t have to go buy anything. And to protect your investment, ViewSonic throws in a three-year limited warranty.

You forgot one important point about these new monitors, who wants to play a game at 1280x1024? This would be an exciting announcement if the new Monitors supported 16x12 or 19x12 in native resolution.
