Senior Adults

The senior adults of Central Assembly are a vital part of the congregation through their wealth of experience, their vision for the future, and their participation as volunteers in the various ministries provided by the church.

As a senior adult, you will find many opportunities to join a small group or provide a service to others. You will also find that Central Assembly is a place of compassion when you are suffering from sickness or the loss of a loved one. It is a great place where you can sense that you truly “belong.”

Our senior adult activities include trips and events that provide great opportunities for Christian friendships to be nurtured, new learning provided and expressions of the talents found among our senior adults. Mrs. Mary Kolenda serves as our Activities Director. Every month, a breakfast event is provided at a local restaurant where we honor those whose birthday occurs during that month.

The Heritage Praise Singers has around 50 members.This choir consists of persons 55 years of age and over. It ministers at Central Assembly on occasions, at other locations in Springfield and at times travels to other cities.

City-Wide Praise Gathering

Come and join us for our City-Wide Praise Gathering scheduled for Friday, June 6, 2008. This will be in our Sanctuary at 6:45 p.m. David & LaDonna Weston will be our featured duets. We will serve refreshments in our Multi-purpose Hall after the Gathering. You won't want to miss this!

Birthday Breakfast

Each month the Senior Adult Ministry hosts a Birthday Breakfast at Hemingway's Blue Water Cafe for Senior Adults celebrating a birthday that month. If your birthday is during the month we are celebrating, you are our guest! If it is not your birthday but you would like to join us for breakfast, you are welcome. The buffet, drink, tax, and tip are $8.00 each. Please note the following dates or call the church office for more details (be there at 8:30 a.m.):
