Wedding Scheduling
Please contact the church office at 972.261.1919 for information on how to schedule a wedding, contact the wedding coordinator, the dates of the next Marriage Preparation Course, or any other questions

Policies

All weddings on the Calvary Church premises must be cleared through the Church Master Calendar. Exact times for rehearsals, weddings and receptions must be approved before being announced. The Wedding Coordinator will assist with scheduling.

The Calvary Church facilities are not available for weddings of non-members.

Saturday weddings will not be scheduled later than 2:00pm

Active members of Calvary Church will be charged service fees according to rooms used as follows:

Custodial:
       Worship Center -- $150
       Chapel            -- $50
       Room 1104      -- $25
       Youth Center    -- $100

VIDEO TAPING:
Should the couples desire to have their wedding professionally recorded on video tape, they should make special arrangements with the church Video Department. Fees are to be negotiated with the director of the Video Department.

AUDIO SYSTEM AND AUDIO RECORDING:
A Calvary Church audio technician shall be secured for the wedding. No outside audio personnel will be permitted to operate the church audio equipment. The church audio technician will be present at the wedding. His fee for this service is $100. Arrangements may be made with the technician for a rehearsal. The couple will be given a master audio recording of their wedding.  Copies are their own responsibility.

LIGHTING:
Any lighting other than the standard house lights will incur additional fees, depending on the number of personnel involved. There is no charge for use of the standard house lighting.

MUSICIANS:
The Wedding Coordinator will assist as needed in securing an organist, pianist, singer or other musicians. Fees for musicians will be negotiated individually with the musicians.

DEPOSIT:
A $150 deposit is required to place a wedding on the Calvary Church Master Calendar. This deposit is refundable up to 10 days prior to the wedding. The balance is due one week prior to the wedding. Please make all checks payable to Calvary Church.

BUILDING REGULATIONS:
(a) All candles not in votive cups must have plastic underneath.
(b) No rice, bird seed or confetti may be thrown inside any of the buildings or on the church grounds.
(c) Platform furniture may be moved only with the supervision and assistance of a church custodian.
(d) Platform furniture must be replaced after the ceremony with the custodian's assistance.
(e) Dancing, smoking and alcohol consumption are not permitted in the church facilities or on the church grounds.
(f) Any building problems or special needs are to be discussed with the Wedding Coordinator.

The couple should schedule an appointment with the Calvary Church Wedding Coordinator as early as possible before the wedding. The Wedding Coordinator will assist with all the wedding details and will be present at both the rehearsal and the wedding.  The Wedding Coordinator will give information concerning the equipment which is available such as candelabras, unity stands, kneeling benches, punch bowls, coffee makers, etc.

Because a valid marriage license is required by the State of Texas, it is necessary for the groom, or his representative, to provide the officiating pastor with the marriage license before the wedding begins. After the ceremony has been ccompleted, the minister will sign the license and mail it to the County Clerk's Office. Upon receipt and registration of the license, the County Clerk will mail the license to the newly-weds.

Calvary Church is here to serve and do everything possible to make each wedding a special and memorable event.

Pre-Wedding Policies

Calvary Church is committed to developing godly marriages.  Realizing that there must be a strong spiritual foundation for a godly marriage, we submit that both partners should be committed to oneness in Christ and totally secure in that belief. We also submit that both partners must be committed to the desire of ministry to one another if there is to be a true coming together in both spirit, soul and body.

In the event that there has been a recent conversion to Christian principles, we encourage a time for strengthening this experience before marriage.

Because it has been proven that couples who take time to make preparation before marriage will have fewer adjustment problems, we require all persons seeking to be married by a Calvary Church pastor to attend the Marriage Preparation Course offered by Calvary Church prior to their wedding. The exception to this rule is a couple, or one party, who reside outside the metroplex area, making it impractical, if not impossible, for them to attend the course. In such a case, the couple may be given the opportunity to study the course through audio or video tapes.

In order to personalize the wedding ceremony, the officiating pastor may request at least one discussion session with the couple prior to the wedding.

There is no charge for the services of any Calvary Church pastor. It is appropriate, however, to give the officiating minister an honorarium should the couple desire.
