Global warming causes stones
I kidney you not:
More Americans are likely to suffer from kidney stones in the coming years as a result of global warming, according to researchers at the University of Texas.
Kidney stones, which are formed from dissolved minerals in the urine and can be extremely painful, are often caused by caused by dehydration, either by not drinking enough liquid or losing too much due to high heat conditions.
If global warming trends continue as projected by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2007, the United States can expect as much as a 30 percent growth in kidney stone disease in some of its driest areas, said the findings published in Monday's Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
The increased incidence of disease would represent between 1.6 million and 2.2 million cases by 2050, costing the US economy as much as one billion dollars in treatment costs.
"This study is one of the first examples of global warming causing a direct medical consequence for humans," said Margaret Pearle, professor of urology at University of Texas Southwestern and senior author of the paper.
Personally, I think there's more evidence that global warming causes dementia.
Just saying.

So in 1993, before the global warming pathology, my husband was a victim.
Sigh.

Yeah! Stupid scientist with their research and facts.
So what have they gotten wrong in their data? Are you going to write a paper showing them how they're wrong?

Facts? What facts?
Manipulated statistics to prove a pre-determined point?
Really, salvage, there is so much out there on the interwebs disputing global warming. Of course, I don't expect you to make the effort to read outside of your approved doctrines, but that's your problem not mine.
I'm not your mother or your teacher or minster/priest/rabbi to make you learn something or open your mind to other things.
Manmade global warming is a crock.
Natural global warming occurs, with subsequent cooling because this big old world is well designed to regulate itself.
Grow up.

This is getting embarrassing.
OK, here’s my theory on surviving an increase in temperature. Granted it’s just a theory and if someone proves me wrong I’ll accept that.
An increase in temperature = I FREAKIN’ DRINK MORE LIQUIDS!
Note: my theory is based upon 44 years of summers and also a half dozen visits to tropical locations, six weeks in S. Korea in a tent in the middle of summer (the #1 reason I never complain @ the heat), months upon months in the Mojave Desert (126 deg. high temp.), a year in Okinawa (your sweat sweats) and 2+ years in SoCal.
No kidney stones, thankyouverymuch.
My research continues.

So what have they gotten wrong in their data? Are you going to write a paper showing them how they're wrong?
Stephen McIntyre and Ross McKitrick wrote a paper demolishing the famous Michael Mann Hockey Stick way back in spring of '03. Since this was one of the most famous controversies within the global warming
hoaxset of theories, and since you are known to me to be a toweringassholetitan of intellectual fortitude, and an unusually balanced and fair-minded one at that, it goes without saying you've already read it from front to back.My favorite part was section 3.3, The Gaspé Cedar, on page 12.
What was yours?

This news? Combined with the loss of the national icon Budweiser? Makes for a real pisser.

One reason my son will never get kidney stones in the 120+ degrees he lives in right now and the 140+ degrees he works in is that he drinks about TWO GALLONS of fluids a day, if not more.
Kidney stones mostly form because of low fluid volumes, not global warming. If people are too stupid to drink more when they're hot, then they deserve the pain of kidney stones so they can learn to hydrate themselves.
At the time my husband got his kidney stones, he was working in 100+ degrees conditions and not drinking as much as he is careful to drink now. He very painfully learned his lesson - take a minute and swig down a few dozen ounces of water every now and then through the work day. His employer certainly doesn't mind - better a few minutes here and there than out with kidney stones for a few days.

"I kidney you not"
Groan!

It's actually pretty simple. Multiple studies show a statistical correlation between mean aggregate temperature and stone disease.
There are more stones cases as a percentage in Texas, Louisiana, Florida etc. than there are in areas of colder weather. A degree increase in temperature means an increase in stone disease.
It probably would have been better if Dr. Pearle said "If global warming trends continue as projected by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2007..."
Oh wait, she did. Idiot. Keep playing the ostrich. The truth is, nobody is trying to convince fools. There is a reason they don't publish these studies in Maxim or Better Homes and Gardens.
