Hii Saved Me?
Ahhh yes. Kerusso has once again shown that their special gift is the gift of following the culture, mimicking the world, and complete unoriginality. In fact, if something is popular in the world it is just a matter of time before Kerusso makes a copy-cat t-shirt of it and attempts to 'Christianize' it in order to make a buck spread the word.
Here is one of their latest offerings. It is a Jesus Mii which can be created on the Wii along with the slogan Hii Died for me?
If you repented of your sins and trusted in Christ alone for your salvation as a result of this t-shirt will you please email us.

It should read "Hii saved mii"

This is Ludicrous! To say that is a witness is crazy. People that aren't familiar with the Nintendo Wii would be lost in translation so-to-speak. Crazy.

Since when do you have to "repent of your sins" to be saved? I thought the Bible said "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..." Acts 16:31! Because I still haven't repented of my sins, because I am still a sinner! Just wanted to know.

There's a lot more in the bible than just that one verse, Matthew.
Also, I will admit that Christians will stumble, but if you refuse to repent then that indicates a stubborn heart that probably hasn't been given to God.
I still sin too.
Repentance is an ongoing thing.

Where do we start with these products? The tag line for this shirt reads: "Your eternity is no game - accept Christ and model your character after His image!" And here's me thinking WWJD was sooo yesterday!
What a great statement of Law this company projects, ie. 'What must we do to be saved?' As a matter of fact, if you read the 'About Jesus' page of the Kerusso website, it's yet another classic tale of pop-evangelical decision theology! Apparently, Hal Lindsey has now been added to the Holy Trinity (Holy Quadruple?), as Mr Kennett quotes: "...let the author and the Holy Spirit lead him in prayer, confessing Jesus as his Lord and Savior."
As for his well-meant Sinners Prayer, I guess the irony of the words he quotes (prior to the prayer) from Ephesians 2:8 just fails to be recognized by him.
If anyone believe this method of salvation, next time they sin they should pray this prayer with even more sincerity-obviously they didn't REALLY mean it first (or second -or third, etc!) time. Looks like they're going to be busy every alter call!
Oh, and don't get me started on the content of the sites "business" pages. It's like "Hey, everyone, lets make a buck out of peddeling God to the US Christian suckers!" UGH!!

Okay, did you all not know that a great percentage of proceeds of Kerusso items goes to missions and churches? Why not buy a t-shirt that stirs conversation, that shows I believe instead of the regular Old Navy or other t-shirts whose money goes everywhere else?
I don't think that people are going to be "LOST" because they don't know anything about Nintendo. Missing the point, buddy!
BTW, I have worn my shirt two days and it is the most complimented shirt I have worn in my 40 years. I've had five people in just a few hours comment how much they liked this shirt, and some of them I wouldn't have talked to normally.
I do hope that people realize we aren't saved because of a t-shirt slogan or image, but out of conversations with real people who can project a real Christ; by building a relationship with others on common things, and conveying our love for God through those times. Didn't Jesus reach people through their love of fishing, or their love of food and wine at meals? Does He not convey His truth through parables and stories that people can relate to?
Did I miss some opportunities to share Christ with others while I passed them by - maybe - but that's my fault, not the shirt or its maker. At least people walked by me today and recognized who my Savior is and that I'm bold enough to wear Him on my sleeve so to speak. How many times do we walk by people missing the opportunity to share God because we don't wear Him on our sleeve? At least I see the potential in that people are approaching me about THIS shirt and I can then take the opportunity to stop and share what He's done for me. HOw much easier is it to speak about CHrist when people I've never met are starting conversations with me?
Its not what's on the shirt, its what's inside the heart. What's in your heart? (Citibank - get it?)
For Christ and His Glory!

Amen Jim! You've really hit the nail on the head. It's wonderful that you've bold enough in your faith to wear it written across your chest in public, and even more wonderful that it's served as a conversation-starter for you. Who knows - maybe one of your new friends just might end up responding to Chris's e-mail challenge!
