Benvenuti, Sheri

Sheri Benvenuti is a minister of the Word of God whose personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the focus of her ministry. Presenting the gospel from a practical perspective is her emphasis, and her varied background and experience in ministry give her a solid foundation from which to operate.

Benvenuti, a licensed minister, earned a M.A. degree in Biblical studies from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, Calif., and a Ph.D. in social ethics from the University of Southern California.

Benvenuti’s ministry experience spans over 25 years and includes evangelistic, youth, music, and pastoral ministry. She is a past vice president at LIFE Bible College in San Dimas, Calif., and currently is vice president for student affairs and assistant professor of social ethics at Vanguard University. Berryhill, Ray Allen

Born and raised in Chicago, Pastor Ray Allen Berryhill began his ministry at the age of 15. With the heart of a pastor, he helps prepare believers for the work of the ministry. He serves on numerous state and national boards and committees for the Assemblies of God.

Berryhill is the senior pastor of Evangel Assembly of God in Chicago, a thriving multi-cultural church representing more than 40 nationalities and committed to making disciples of all nations. Berryhill can be heard daily on Making Disciples radio broadcast aired Monday through Friday at 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on WYLL 1160 A.M. Brown, Daniel

Rev. Daniel Brown is the senior pastor at Bethel Christian Assembly of God in Dayton, Ohio. Brown received his ministerial training at Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo,. graduating in 1971. He has served in ministry for over 30 years.

Continuing his education, Brown received a M.A. from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminar in 1990, and currently is doing doctoral studies. (Top of Page)

Canales, Isaac J.

Dr. Isaac J. Canales is the president of Latin American Bible Institute in La Puente, Calif. He is also the senior pastor of the Misión Eben-Ezer Family Church in Carson, Calif., a dynamic urban ministry with 1,500 members.

Canales receive his B.A. in religion at Vanguard University and his M.Div. at the Harvard University Divinity School (1978). At Fuller, he earned his Ph.D. (1993) in New Testament. Canales served Fuller for 20 years as director of its Hispanic church studies department and as assistant professor of New Testament.

He is a published author, a gifted communicator and has participated in three documentary films produced by the Arts and Entertainment Network: Mysteries of the Bible series. (Top of Page)

Duron, Denny

Denny Duron is pastor of First Assembly of God in Shreveport, La. In addition to his duties as pastor, Duron serves as chancellor for Evangel Christian Academy, a thriving outreach of the church. Duron has been recognized as a communicator, coach, leadership trainer, Grammy Award winning composer, and humanitarian. (Top of Page)

Johnston, Darius L.

Darius Johnston has served as the senior pastor of Christ Church Assembly of God in Fort Worth, Tex., since 1986. During his tenure the church has undergone dramatic growth that led to relocation in 2000 to a new 64,000 square foot worship facility. The congregation has grown from an average morning worship attendance of 250 to over 850. The mission vision of the congregation has grown from an annual missions giving of less then $25,000 to a record of $525,000 in 2001. During this time they have also been able to mother four local congregations as well as plant churches overseas.

Johnston has had the privilege to share the gospel and train ministry leaders in various countries. His heart for missions and training of leaders is evident in every aspect of his ministry.

Prior to becoming the senior pastor, Johnston served for two years as an evangelist speaking for youth camps, conventions, church crusades and public schools across the US.

A graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (1978) with a B.S. degree in Christian ministry, Johnston is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God since 1979. (Top of Page)

Klaus, Byron

Dr. Byron D. Klaus is the president of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) in Springfield, Mo. He assumed his position July 1, 1999 after 20 years on the administration and faculty of Southern California College (now Vanguard University of Southern California).

A graduate of Bethany Bible College (1972), he earned a master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1975 and the doctor of ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1986. Previous to his teaching ministry at Southern California College he served local churches in California, Texas and Illinois.

Previous to coming to AGTS, Dr. Klaus also served as Vice President for Latin America ChildCare (LACC), a child development ministry serving over 80,000 children in 21 nations of Latin America and the Caribbean. His commitment to leadership development in growing churches around the world has taken him to preach and develop leaders in over 50 nations of the world.

Dr. Klaus’ scholarly work includes publications in numerous journals, Assemblies of God publications and books published by Moody Press, Logion Press, Regal Books, Hendrickson Publishers and Regnum Books International. His most recent publication, co-edited with Murray W. Dempster and Douglas Peterson is entitled: The Globalization of Pentecostalism: A Religion Made to Travel.

Lassiter, J. Colen

Rev. J. Colen Lassiter is the senior pastor at The Rock Assembly of God in Oklahoma City. Licensed to preach in 1965, Lassiter ministered as an evangelist for three years. He was ordained in 1967 and began his pastoral ministry. He has conducted 25 crusades overseas.

He also speaks at missions conventions, district councils, camp meetings, district men’s retreats, and a national Light for the Lost convention. (Top of Page)

Lednicky, H. Maurice

Rev. H. Maurice Lednicky has a wide variety of ministerial experiences including serving as pastor, national youth leader, speaker for camps, conventions, and ministers’ meetings across the nation. He has ministered in over 50 nations. He served as president of Central Bible College from 1980-2001.

He has published articles and books, including The Scriptures Applied, Volumes I, II, and III, Insights from the Word, and Faded Glory: The Church in a Cultural Crisis.

Perhaps he is best known as an outstanding pulpiteer in the Fellowship whose ministry challenges and blesses those who hear him. (Top of Page)

Meyer, Don

Dr. Don Meyer became president of Valley Forge Christian College in 1997. The current enrollment of 722 students (Fall 2001) is a 51percent increase over the previous four years and the highest enrollment in the history of the college.

Meyer’s education includes a B.A. in theological studies from Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo., (1968), a M.A. in theological studies from Wheaton Graduate School in Wheaton, Ill., (1976), a Ph.D. in ancient studies from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and additional studies at Jerusalem University College in Jerusalem(1979), the Harvard University Institute for Educational Management (1992) and the Harvard University Institute for New Presidents (1997).

Meyer served for 21 years at North Central University (formerly North Central Bible College) where he taught full time in Biblical studies and for 18 years was vice president for academic affairs. For one semester he served as the interim academic dean at Continental Theological Seminary in Brussels, Belgium.

Meyer is an ordained Assemblies of God minister and for seven years pastored the Franklin Assemblies of God Church in Franklin, Pa. He has spoken at camps, retreats, seminars, and churches in the US and overseas with extensive ministry in Europe (east and west) and Africa. He has contributed articles to various Christian publications and journals. (Top of Page)

McDonald, Tom

Tom McDonald is the director of the National Music Department for the Fellowship. He has been involved in music ministry for over 28 years. In addition to his ministry experience, he has authored a book on worship, Toward More Glorious Praise, in conjunction with Jack Hayford, former pastor of the Church on the Way.

McDonald also has collaborated in a praise recording for Hosanna Integrity, entitled Men in Worship and was an artist on the Maranatha Praise 17 recording In Your Presence. He is much sought after as a seminar speaker, worship leader and guest conductor.

McDonald will speak to pastors about worship-related issues, including the vital relationship between the senior pastor and church musician. (Top of Page)

Trask, Bradley T.

Bradley T. Trask is the senior pastor of Brighton Assembly of God in Brighton, Mich. Trask pioneered the work, which began in 1992. Over the past decade God has blessed his ministry, exemplified by the church’s growing attendance and numerous ministries that have been implemented. Additionally, under Trask’s leadership, the congregation of Brighton Assembly has developed a sincere desire to impact the world around them.

The Michigan District recognized Brighton Assembly for two consecutive years as the number one church in per capita giving and second in overall giving to Home Missions. Brighton Assembly has also committed to supporting ministries such as the Convoy of Hope. The church raised $250,000 for Convoy and spearheaded this event in the city of Detroit three times over the past four years.

While pioneering the church in Brighton, Trask has pursued his D.Min. from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. He also earned a M.Div. from AGTS, and received an undergraduate degree from North Central University. In addition, he is serving as the chairperson for the study of post-secondary education for the Assemblies of God and is actively involved in the committee on ministerial development. (Top of Page)

Valimont, Randy

Randy Valimont, a graduate of Southeastern College in Lakeland, Fla., has been in pastoral ministry since 1981. Valimont is currently the senior pastor of First Assembly of God in Griffin, Ga. First Assembly is also home to Griffin Christian Academy (K-8th grade), Griffin Christian High School (Grades 9-12), a daycare and a Masters Commission that is currently home for 34 students from across the US.

When Valimont began his ministry at First Assembly in Griffin in 1993, the average morning attendance was 450. Since that time, God has blessed the church not only financially but also numerically with the average Sunday morning attendance growing to over 2,700. Increases in other areas have been seen as well. Missions giving has increased from less than $10,000 to over $1.2 million in 2001. The church also has a television ministry that reaches all the US.During the eight and a half years of his ministry at First Assembly over 15,000 people saved have been saved. (Top of Page)

Welk, Leslie

Rev. Leslie E. Welk currently serves as the district superintendent of the Northwest District Council of the Assemblies of God. He has also served as assistant superintendent for the NDC, a job he assumed after 18 years as pastor of Shoreline Community Church. He established a strong track record in support of both foreign and home missions. Shoreline Community Church has often been in the top five of missions giving churches in the district over the last many years.

Welk, as assistant superintendent, served as the district World Missions director to include the portfolio of home missions and foreign missions. This fit well with his burden and vision for outreach from the local church. (Top of Page)

Westlake, George W. (Jr.)

Dr. George W. Westlake, Jr. has been senior pastor of the Sheffield Family Life Center (Assemblies of God) in Kansas City, Mo. For 29 years. Sheffield is a multiracial, multicultural metropolitan church located in the inner city. The current attendance of the church is over 4,000 on Sunday mornings, 1,500 Sunday evenings and over 1,000 on Wednesday evenings. Someone has publicly accepted Jesus Christ as Savior every Sunday for 29 years. The Sheffield congregation has mothered a number of other churches in the Kansas City area.

Westlake also ministered on radio and television for over 35 years. Currently, he and Mrs. Westlake host a 60-minute call-in question and answer television program, Living Answers For Today. He is a camp meeting and convention speaker and has ministered in Europe, Latin America, Africa and the Far East. He has also taught marriage and Bible seminars in the US and the Far East.

Westlake holds a B.A. and a M.A. degree from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, and the D.Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. Westlake is also a member of the adjunct faculties of the Asian Theological Center for Evangelism and Missions in Singapore, Asia Pacific Theological Seminary, North Central University in Minneapolis, and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Mo. He has also taught in the East African School of Theology in Kenya. He has also written a textbook for the ICI University, Daniel and Revelation, and is currently writing a book on Romans. He has recently published a book, The Most Often Asked Question on Sunday Night Alive. (Sunday Night Alive is the previous title for the TV Program that aired for 14 years before changing to Living Answers For Today.) (Top of Page)

Wilson, William E.

Since 1987, Bill Wilson has served as the senior pastor of Portland Christian Center, Portland, Ore. This church is one of the leading Assemblies of God churches in the northwest and is the oldest and largest in the metro area. The Sunday morning attendance has grown from 350 to over 1800. Wilson oversees 110 ministries offered through the church with a pastoral team of 12. Above the ongoing operations of the church, the World Missions giving has tripled since 1987 to over $400,000 annually. Under Wilson’s leadership, the church has completed two major building additions

Wilson is a 1973 graduate of Bethany College in Calif. and has been in pastoral ministry since 1972. Since 1980, Wilson has been involved in a variety of pastoral responsibilities including family life, adult Christian training, small group ministries, teaching, and men’s ministries.

He was a contributing author for the book Pentecostal Pastor and the Enrichment Journal, and he is currently completing a book to be released in 2003.

Each year, he leads the church in two major outreaches: The Portland Christmas Celebration and The Portland Passion Play, attracting over 20,000 people. Wilson states, "people of all walks of life are coming back to Christ; God is working today, and I am humbled to be a part of such a powerful move." (Top of Page)

Zeigler, Lloyd D.

Lloyd Zeigler has been director of Master’s Commission since 1987. Under his watch, this ministry has grown from an in-church program with less than 20 students to a world- recognized ministry with over 75 programs and thousands of graduates to date.

A 1977 graduate of Vanguard University, Lloyd received a B.A. in secondary education with a triple major in health, physical education and recreation and a minor in science. His graduate work was completed at the University of Arizona.

Lloyd became assistant pastor in Tucson, Ariz. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in 1977. His duties were to set up and direct all ages and levels of Christian education and youth ministry.

In early 1987, Pastor Tommy Barnett invited Lloyd to direct the then one and only Master’s Commission program. Under his mentoring, numerous opportunities began to open up for this ministry. Master’s Commission ministers at church services, camps, revivals, conferences, youth conventions, children’s crusades, VBS, concerts, street outreaches, school assemblies, overseas missions trips, and missions conventions.

In 1993, Lloyd and his wife, Christine, accepted the invitation of the Division of Home Missions to became national home missionaries with the Assemblies of God with a mandate to work in conjunction with the Invasion 39 project. He currently is the executive director and founder of the Master’s Commission International Network. (Top of Page)
