Dr. Mark Hamilton writes and lectures on the connections between Israelite religion and present-day theology. He is particularly interested in Old Testament discussions of justice, power, community-formation, and spirituality.
Mark has published articles recently in Journal for the Study of the Old Testament, Restoration Quarterly, Vetus Testamentum, and other journals. His books are God's Holy Fire: The Nature and Function of Scripture (with James Thompson and Ken Cukrowski; ACU Press, 2002); The Body Royal: The Social Poetics of Kingship in Ancient Israel (Brill, 2005); Renewing Tradition (editor; Pickwick, 2007); and The Transforming Word: A One-Volume Bible Commentary (ACU Press, 2009).
