I have a question ? When we die here on earth are we dead to the world and to Heaven untill the second coming ?
Or as soon as we take our last breath here are we then in Heaven? I know I’m going to met Jesus in Heaven one day, but I heard something other than I have been beleiving the other day and it has me confused.I would like to know if I will be with Jesus instantly after dieing here. I also wonder if we will know each other as a married couple in Heaven? Will we be able to see whats still going on here on earth while we are in Heaven? please give me scriptures if you can guiding me in the right directions to answer my questions .
God Bless

Jessy: Hi! I didn’t see any response to your post yet, so I thought I’d jump in.
You’ve asked some tough questions! I would also encourage you to do search the Scriptures to see what they say about those subjects. If you have a Bible topical index or concordance at home (check the back of your Bible), you can look there. You can also use Bible Gateway’s topical index, keyword search, etc. (I’m not affiliated with Bible Gateway either, I just think it’s handy.) Also, ask God for wisdom to open your eyes to His word. Some topics you can look up would be: heaven, second coming, death, judgment, marriage. Hope this helps!

I’m glad everyone enjoys the gadget! Thanks for your comments and feedback!
Jessy: I can honestly say those aren’t questions I’ve ever explored before. They are very good ones.
This is what I understand, again not really looking into it and I couldn’t tell you why I think this way as it’s not something I’ve ever really questioned. I think that when we die we go to “sleep” until later, and I’m not sure at what point we go to be with Jesus. I’m curious now though, and I’ll look into and pray about it and share if I find something.
Share what you find too if you come up with something! Like Stephanie said, seek and you shall find!
If anyone wants to jump in and share what they know please do!

Jessy,
I remember Jesus saying to the thief on the cross: “Today you will be with me in paradise.”
It seems to me that entering eternity makes all our concepts of “time” go away.
Eternity has no beginning or end, no yesterday or tomorrow!
I believe we will see Jesus when we die, but in the new dimension of eternity.
I will leave it to God to reveal exactly what that means to me when I see him.

I have a question - looking for passage that talks about God will use our past for good/teaching/etc. Any ideas? thanks and blessings.
Added this comment on July 13th, 2008 at 8:59 pm
answer to Jessy’s question -
in the words of Billy Graham - “From my own study of the Bible, I’m convinced that when we die, we immediately enter the presence of the Lord. At some future time, we will be given new bodies, similar to the body Jesus had after His resurrection. But in the meantime, our souls are with the Lord, and we are fully conscious of being in His presence.
This certainly seemed to be the Apostle Paul’s hope. He faced many dangers, and he knew that at any moment his life on earth could end. But he faced death with hope: “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). Elsewhere he declared, “I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far” (Philippians 1:23).”
hope this clarifies.
God bless!

hi Flo-
if i’ve understood ur question rightly , u r talking about our past mistakes
there has to be a clear distinction here :
the mistakes we committed in our own foolishness in the past 1.with our full knowledge(after salvation) 2.in ignorance(before salvation)
in case 1., we can take the example of King David
when David committed adultery with Bathsheba , and later when he confessed and submitted fully to God ,God rasied Solomon the wisest king ever, who was a son through Bathseba , but yet God punished David for that sin - he took away his 1st son through bathseba and also pledged that the sword will nt be taken from David’s family.
So when we make mistakes in our foolishness ,with full knowledge of sin, we will have to bear the consequence , yet later God will use for His glory when we fully submit to Him Jer 30:11
in case 2. we can take the example of Apostle Paul.
before his conversion , Paul persecuted christians ruthlessly , but when he came to understand of Salvation through Christ and accepted, God did not punish him for his past sins , but he was used mightily by God. Acts 17:30
thats why it is said “a sinner sins by chance and a saint sins by choice” either ways God is merciful enough to free us of our sinful past , but the saint will have to face the consequences
and when we submit wholly to Him ,he will use us for His glory
hope this answers
God Bless!

I have read in various study bibles that 1 John was written to the Gnostics. Were they non-believers?

Hi everyone
I just have a suggestion for the creator of this gadget. It would be great also if you can make a windows vista sidebar gadget? It has an opportunity to go a long way as there is only one up there available but it still needs streamlining.
I personally find this gadget great and thanks for putting in the time to help share the gospel.
God bless

@Jun Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into making a gadget for vista sidebar.
Does anyone use other widget/gadget programs such as Dashboard on Mac, Google Desktop, or any others? Let me know if you would like to see a version of the search gadget for any of these programs.

QUESTION? I KNOW JESUS WAS GOD IN THE FLESH, WO WHY DO YOU THINK WHEN ON THE CROSS HE STATED. MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE THY FORSAKEN ME?
Added this comment on July 24th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
Jesus was a sin offering–he took on the sins of the world–sin separates us from God–so at the most agonizing time of his earthly life, he was alone.

@Victor
Jesus was God in the flesh, wholly man and wholly God. I think that God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit being one and the same person is one of the more confusing things to wrap your head around and I can’t honestly say that I have an eloquent way of explaining it.
Can anyone else jump in and clarify?
I think that is what you mean by your question Victor, am I right?

Hi Dorothy,
That verse is in Revelation 21:5 - Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.†And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.â€

Hi Jessy,
I hope you still review these posts for here is an answer I found using Bible Gateway
1.”Or as soon as we take our last breath here are we then in Heaven?”
2 Corinthians 5:7-9 (New King James Version)
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.
It seems to me from this scripture that as a follower of Jesus, from the moment we are absent from our earthy bodies (physical death) we are with Jesus.
2″I also wonder if we will know each other as a married couple in Heaven?”
Matthew 22:29-31 (New King James Version)
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God[a] in heaven. 31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying,
And also
1 Corinthians 13:12 (New King James Version)
New King James Version (NKJV)
12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
This last scripture holds tremendous love for those who love and follow Jesus. When we arrive in heaven we will know Jesus, Father God and Holy Spirit the absolute same way we are known to Him! What love we shall have! Without the pall of sin hanging over our hearts as in this world, our hearts will be free to experience the all consuming love God has for us! God knows us completely. At that moment we will know Him and all His creation just as He knows…That leaves no room for marriage. Marriage is but a single “flavor” of God’s love for humanity and creation. I love my husband very deeply…When I depart this world to be with Jesus I will love ALL much more deeply! I can’t even comprehend the magnitude of such devotion!
3. “Will we be able to see whats still going on here on earth while we are in Heaven?”
Revelation 21:4 (New King James Version)
New King James Version (NKJV)
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.â€
Jessy, my belief is that we will not see the world. For here we suffer and watch others suffer. Here we see pain and here we cry. There we will not.
Hope this helps.
