Kourtney goes to K4

Here in Florida the state pays for a child to go to a pre-K program. The parent can choose the school and the state pays for it. So we are sending Kourtney to Christian Preparatory Academy. It seems to be that is the thing to do at Life Pointe. I think it all started with Julia and Sara. Now this year we have I think 7 kids from Life Pointe attending CPA. Travis had his coaching network in Tampa today so I got to take her to her first day of school. Normally he will take her and I will pick her up. I only just teared up for a minute when I was taking this picture. I could have probably cried a lot more but it was so crazy getting all 3 kids fed, dressed and buckled in by 7:45 that I didn't really have time. She had a great time and says that school is the best thing ever. That makes parting with her easier.
Way too bright to see!Bad lighting :(

Oh say can't you sing?!?!?

I love the Olympics. I always have. From the opening ceremony to the metal counts. I always watch. I took one year of gymnastics when I was 10 and thought I would be a super star one day :). I have had a great time watching Phelps shatter records this year and the US women's team take the gold (and fight off those 8 year old Chinese "women"). However there is one thing that has annoyed me this year with our athletes that I guess I never noticed or cared about before. When they get gold and the national anthem is played while they are standing on the podium, I think they should sing the song! I know they probably aren't the best singers, but who is gonna hear anyways? At least mouth a few words of it. Boast about the land of the free and the home of the brave! They have waited their whole lives for that one moment and they can't learn the song? What is that about?!? I am no olympic athlete - or singer for that matter, but I think maybe they should give a national anthem crash course on the plane ride over.

River house

We stayed here for a few days of rest. It was incredible. The first night Travis slept for 11 hours. There was no internet and the world was still there after not checking my email for a few days. There was tv and I was able to watch the US women's gymnastics team take the gold. Travis and I played games, sat on the dock, and went to eat at the Apple Barn.

First day of school

My baby starts K4 tomorrow. It is a sad and exciting time. Until now we have all been home together all day and do whatever we want. Thank goodness I am being eased into this with a half day. Travis will take her to school and I will pick her up at noon every day. I can't believe this day is here. Kourtney is so ready for it. Thanks to Tropical Storm Fay schools here were closed Monday and Tuesday which gave me a chance to have one more full day with all the kids (do I sound like a sap? well I am). We got caught in a down pour leaving the store. It was actually comical. By the time we got to the car we were soaked to the bone. My jeans were wet from my ankles to my pockets. Kourtney laughed the whole time, McKenna cried, and Blake looked confused. Kourtney asked if we could do it again the next time it rained. She is gonna do great at school.

Leaving Georgia

This was in front of Kevin's office building. He works for Damascus Homes. Blake thought it was still the olympics... he was trying out some moves on Kevin.
Our drive to Tennessee... I love it here.

Home Sweet Home

We have been gone for 3 weeks. That is a long time. We met up with my parents in Lake City this morning to pick up the girls. They were SOOOO happy to see Blake after being away from him for a whole week. Blake was ecstatic too. I love my kids! I can't believe how good it felt to pull into Homestead tonight. We were racing the clock on the way here trying to beat Tropical Storm Fay. We saw 22 utility trucks on our way south. But as I sit here with my power and clear Direct tv signal I think we are going to be just fine! Thank you to Tammy, Erin, and Anne for helping me with things here at the house while we were gone!! I have lots of pictures to post as soon as my house is back in order!

Travels

Blake helping me pack up in Texas. The girls went with my parents to Louisiana to stay with them for a week.
We flew from Texas back to Florida. This is Buzz traveling in the airplane with us. Buzz has been with us since Kourtney was born. He is one of my favorite toys!
Blake - not so happy on the plane.
Then we drove to Georgia to see my brother and his wife, Brittany. Here is Dakota, Blake, and Aunt Brittany (and Dakota on Blake's pj's) hanging out on the couch.

Blake spins himself silly

30

I have turned 12, 16, and now 30 in San Antonio... kinda funny. It was great to see my family for my birthday. I had a birthday dinner with them on Friday and then with just my boys on Saturday - my actual birthday. Travis changed all the diapers today as a wonderful gift to me! I must say that I do not dread my 30's. I really could not be happier right now. I have a wonderful and loving husband. Three gorgeous kids. Wonderful family all around me. A great church family. The Lord has been so good to me and as I start a new decade I look forward to what it holds! I did, however, wear my ripped jeans and tank top today... just trying to hold on to my youth! ;)

I am so excited that two more of my really close friends started blogging. Jessica (Childers) Ashe and Tara (Hackbarth) Rodriguez. Jessica and I were roommates in college and Tara and I have been friends since 5th grade. Welcome! Also, I found a DZT Alumni blog... seek to serve!

Dancing in sunglasses to the music

Rooftop swimming

All three kids have been sick on this trip... fevers, coughs, runny noses, soar throats... NOT good. But I think we passed the worst of it and today we headed up to the pool for the girls to take a dip. Nothing like swimming on top of a city!

Inside the Hello Kitty store (right before they told us we couldn't take pictures in the store!). You can tell Kourtney doesn't feel well. Poor baby.

Greetings from Texas

We made it all the way to Texas by car! We dropped the girls off in Louisiana with my parents and finished our journey here for the COG General Assembly. We were here a couple days without the girls. They arrived this afternoon. Blake was thrilled to see them!
