Gifts from Grandpa and Grammy
My parents did something really fun this year for McKenna's birthday. They sent McKenna money to go on her own shopping spree. I took her to Walmart. The first thing she picked out was this "Barbie motorcycle" as she called it. It took her a while to realize that she could spend up to a certain amount. She thought if she picked something else she would have to put the Barbie bike back. I finally got her to realize she could pick out more. She chose a pediatrician Barbie, a mermaid Barbie, and a Little People car. My parents also sent a ton of clothes (I am blessed to NEVER have to get my kids clothes). Kourtney has already put in the request... she wants to go on a shopping spree for her birthday too.
Thanks Grandpa and Grammy! Wish you could be here!

My McKenna Banana
The Sunday CHICK-kabob
- When I arrived at the theater at 8:30 am nothing was set up in my room or the nursery. Fortunately there were happy and willing people who worked really hard to help set up!
- After I set up I headed to the 9 am service. I missed worship, but I heard it was good. Something about Sugarhill gang... I think that was what Trav told me. As Paul said, my generation was in pre-school then.
- Travis had a great message on conflict and how to handle it. We all need to know how to fight a good fight.
- After service I headed back to the 2-yr old room. We started lessons about Noah today. Today's sentence... "Noah built an ark." The older 2 yr olds get it... the younger ones will eventually catch on!
- We colored a picture of the ark and got out our toy ark, noah, and animals to play with. This age is so much fun!
- We tore down in record time today thanks to Jennifer, Esther, Stephanie, Pam, Melissa, and Pam's daughter (I can't remember her name - sorry!). We have a great group of ladies in there that rock the theater every week.
- I talked to a new prospective teacher for the 2 yr old class. I am excited! She will be joining me next week in the 10:30 class.
- After church I found out that once again my precious 8 month old Blake refused to eat all morning. So I fed him in the car and then headed to Publix with Tammy and the kids. I saw Jesse and Reina in the parking lot.
- We got some food and headed back to the house to eat with Tammy. We made brownies mmmmmm....
- Travis went to the office to get some things done.
- The girls are in bed, Blake is chillin with me and daddy should be heading home soon.
- I am looking forward to getting out of the "nothing is on tv" zone with the premier of Big Brother 10 tonight.
- Check out the other Sunday wrap-ups by Travis, Phil, and Jesse. Chris was at church working so I am sure his will be up later!
- Here is a picture of Blake trying to do his Sunday wrap up on McKenna's new laptop. It must have been hilarious
- Here is Kourtney's Sunday wrap-up. She loves her class.
- Here is McKenna's wrap up... yes, I bribed them with candy. So what!?!?!

Check ups
McKenna had her 3 yr old check up and Blake had his 9 month check up.
On the way to the office she said, I am going to tell Dr. Dones that I have a cough, hiccups, and bug bites. I guess she had her little list of complaints. So cute. She started announcing them to the nurse the minute they took us back. She did not have to get any shots. She did pee in a cup (always a fun job for mommy to do) and get her finger pricked. The nurse was so good with the finger prick and the "magic purple vacuum" that sucked up the blood that Kourtney wanted to get her finger pricked (I am not kidding).
Blake did good. He babbled away as always. He does have yet another ear infection which he is on antibiotics for. Poor kid. He never has a fever to tell me something is wrong! He has been super fussy the last week or so, but I just thought it was teething. Dr. Dones said he needs to gain a little more weight. She told me to give him food that is higher in carbs and calories. I have just been doing pretty much fruits and veggies. She said he is just so long and active. She wasn't concerned, just told me to give him pancakes with butter, pasta, yogurt, toast, meats, etc.
It was a good day! I am blessed with healthy children.

Reasons to cry?
Okay so I didn't really cry, but I would like a do-over on today.
My wonderful husband picked up this gallon of milk for me at a gas station for a mere $6.59 and I had just mopped my floors last night.
The girls were helping me dust today and windex spiled down into the tv screen and created this lovely water spot in my tv (bottom left). The service center said it would be $90 for a tech to come look at it, $300 if the screen could just be cleaned, and an additional $160 if it actually needed a new screen. And for that price, I will watch tv with a spot on it.

The many faces of McKenna Grace
For those of you who know McKenna, you know what a fun little girl she is. So full of personality and life. She must get her expressions from her mama...The Sunday CHICK-kabob
There you have it. The official name of my Sunday wrap up. It has a nice ring to it :)- So I arrived at the theater around 8:20 and was thrilled to find new tables and chairs in my class room! Last week we had so many 2-4 yr olds we ran out of room. What an awesome problem to have!
- After putting the finishing touches on set up (because the set up crew does all the heavy stuff) I headed out to grab my coffee and a seat next to my hubby. He taught on temptation today. I heard he talked about me in the 2nd service, but I guess I will have to listen to that later.
- Mae Blocker was in church today. She was attending the church when we first moved down here in 2002. She moved to the keys a while back but was in town visiting her family. It is always nice to see old friends. She is such a sweet lady.
- We had a smaller crowd in our class this week compared to last week and I blame the torential rain! It was pouring buckets outside and our lights flickered a couple times. We had six 2-year-olds in the second service and probably about the same in the first.
- We wrapped up our "God cares for me" lesson series this week and we will start Noah's Ark next week.
-Another one of my teachers (who will remain nameless for now) might be moving in August! So again, if you are interested in helping in the 2-year-old class let me know! We would be thrilled to have you! The best part about serving at Life Pointe is that you can serve in one service and attend the other! You never have to miss church!
-After church we headed to the office where I helped Travis for a little bit. Chris tried to spread his germs on Blake while trying to get him to say "Uncle Chris." I told him we were working on sibling names for now.
- Then I headed home with the kids. Two of my children are sleeping now and the other one is relaxing by the tube. Travis is still at the office.
- No picture this week... I forgot my camera. But I made up for it yesterday with the overload!
- Off to house work for now. I have laundry in the works, and cluttered house, and a sink full of dishes.

It's not mosquito season?
Here in Palm Isle we are about to get eaten alive. The mosquitoes are EVERYWHERE including my house where we chase them around and keep count of how many each of us kills. Seriously. So our neighborhood has banned together and inundated the mosquito call center with complaints. Well last week a representative stopped by and said they had received several complaints and were checking the area for beds. However, he didn't see any and it "wasn't even mosquito season." WHAT?!?! I should have brought all three of my children to the door to show him their bites. So I called today. I had not called because I thought when they sent someone out here they would actually do something. The guy told me that the way they spray is they come to the person's house who complained and they spray their house and the house on each side. WHAT!?!?! When I was little, I remember trucks coming down the street shooting spray out of the back. We would all run for cover and pretend like we were being poisoned (maybe we were LOL). So I asked, so what if every single person in one neighborhood calls to complain? Are you going to go spray every single house in the neighborhood? His answer: yes.
Well, we shall see. If July isn't mosquito season then when is?
