My problem is that without someone paying me to start with I tend to start big projects and not get them sufficiently finished to publish.

If you're looking for a host you can do commercial stuff on I have a Virtual Machine than is underused, and it'd be good to get help with a cut of cost.

I understand that. Thats why, when coding, I do little steps rather than try and right the ultimate XYZ. The last plugin I wrote only had the basic feature set compared to the prototype I've used on GCG. It was easier when the goal was so much closer. As for writing... well anything I write is either "for fun" or a "big project". There is nothing in between. For Fun is often low quality and I enjoy doing at the time but sorta meaningless. The Big Projects are where I take the same project but work on it until it's of a much higher quality. In the end, the projects look about the same size et all.

I meant to write a blog post about this, but I find coding scarily addictive but less of a creative kick. Particularly with web software; write a little, see instant results, write some more and add a new feature or improvement and see quick results, repeat. While with writing, it's write loads and loads. Realise the bones are right but the rest is crap. Rewrite. Slightly better. Rewrite. Repeat. You have to really want the end product.

Thanks for the offer! There are a number of things I need to do code-wise before I consider moving my webpage somewhere else so I may come back to you on that offer in a few months... :)

You even have project management on tap if you were going to go that route!

Her, as in not the cat's mother but my frenchie wife :), "Project Management" functions get switched off once it has nothing to do with work. Heck, I do up most of the initial spreadsheets for stuff like moving house, christmass lists... etc.

TBH I think if I was working for my wife... she would have fired me years ago! :)
