Do I need to Have a Title?

Don't worry, I'm still around! (I'm sure you weren't worried!) I just don't have much to say for myself! I've been working full days at the golf course, coming home tired, then trying to be a good wife by keeping the house tidy and a home cooked meal on the table! Obviously, blogging has been on the lower end of my priority list!

I don't even have a menu for this week! (I've got good reasons.) But I did manage to accomplish a lot this past weekend. Saturday started out early with my garage sale. I must admit I think it was a great success! It really amazes me what people will buy and how much those things add up! I only came home with a few boxes that I hope to try selling again when my Mom has a garage sale. My Aunt and my Mom set up a great system for selling my Grandma's stuff. They gave each item a sticker, either red, blue or yellow. Then my Aunt printed out a few signs stating what the price of each sticker colour meant. Either .25 or .50 cents or $1. It was great!

Sunday I tried to relax but ended up doing a bit of laundry in the afternoon. I can't help it, I think it's a problem!

Monday I really allowed myself to go crazy. I managed to vacuum, wash to floors, clean both bathrooms, put the laundry away, get groceries, take in some clothes to a consignment shop, bake some cookies, make a couple of freezer meals, and did the dishes! No wonder I was tired yesterday! But I always feel great on days like that.

Today, I managed to have a most boring day, at work even! I think what makes boring days at work not fun, it the fact I always think about the stuff I could be doing at home! Mind you, I don't remember the last time I had a boring day and most days at work I'm super busy. Today just happened to be a training day for one of the new guys. I was in charge of training and looking after him for the entire day. But he was a guick learner!

Other than that I've been enjoying life, and trying to learn all that God is teaching me lately!

Ramblin's

(Just a card I made!)

Since I'm not too sure what to write about these days, I thought I would just give you a mix of everything!

I got 'the call' from my boss at the golf course. The one telling me I can start anytime. I could have started today but he knows how much I dislike raking all twenty seven holes on the golf course. He was kind enough to let me start next Monday. (He is the best boss ever!) So, I've been livin' it up over here! Enjoying my finall week of fully devoting myself to my home. Living it up to me is you know, cooking, cleaning, a bit of yard work, and making tons of cards. Just call me crazy!

I've actually been a little tense about starting back up at the golf course. Don't get me wrong, this job is the best job I could ask for, for myself. I guess my priorities have been changing, that's all. It all started to change the day I got married! My priority has changed from being totally self seeking, to what's best for my husband. That best is being able to prepare his meals, and do the housework. That's how he likes to be shown love! He is my priority now! I guess the fact that I have to go back to work made me worry about not being able to do those things to the extent that I would like. I'm kinda an all or nothing girl. Unfortunately, it's not an option for me to stay at home all year if we would like to purchase a home in our ridiculous market. Fortunately though, I will only be working four days a week instead of five. Getting up at 4am everyday really does something to the will that wants to get things done!

This week I've also been doing a bunch of baking. Cookies, buns, will be doing some banana bread, to make things a bit easier when I start back. I've also made a lasagna for the freezer and will be making some burritos for easy grab and go lunches. I'd still like to make a couple of chicken dishes. Mainly just throw in a marinade.

I did a little bit of yard work today and noticed that our tulips are starting to poke through! Spring is here! I can't wait to start planting beautiful flowers! I'm still excited to plant a vegetable garden too. I'm also excited because we will be getting a smaller deep freezer and a nice patio set from my Grandma!! (She moved into a senior living home so will not be needing them anymore!) We also received a new BBQ for Christmas from Jesse's Dad. We are so ready for summer!

I think that's enough rambling for one day. Off to bed now!

4 Days

4 is the number of work days I have left until I'm done for the season. But, I'm not excited at all. Okay, I'm really, really excited. This means, I get to sleep past 4 am, organize our house, bake, sew, make greeting cards, visit more often with dear friends...I could go on! I really do love my job though. I've been there for seven years now! I have a wonderful boss, I get to use $80,000 lawn mowers, I get to garden, and I work with great people. Yep, I love it.

But, ever since getting married two months ago, my heart's desire has been to be at home. Now, in four days, my desire will be real! I get to stay home! Well, first we will be going on a road trip that will lead us to San Francisco. We have 10 lovely days to travel the open road. We only have about 1 must do: see a basketball or football game. Other than that this trip is one open book! We were debating between driving to California or flying somewhere else, but the drive won out due to the more relaxing nature of an unplanned, open scheduled vacation.

After our trip the simplicity of winter will take over. It's my time to refresh my body, reflect on my desires, and revive lost joys. God is good!

Side note: I thought I would make this post a delurking post. I would really like to meet more people and I'm just curious about who reads my blog! So come on out and let me know what you look forward to the most in winter time!

Cows + Golfcourses = a Mess

Monday morning of this week started out normally for me. I wearily got of of bed at 6am, got dressed, packed my lunch then drove to work. I walked into my bosses office where the computer is so that I can sign in with my finger print. Yes, my finger print. You see, the golf course I work at was sold earlier this year to a couple, one province over who have just a little bit more money than I do. Not much, just millions more. So I guess they feel the need to spend it on useful things. I personally think this was a bit overboard considering we have a maximum staff of about 50 on a good week. But whatever. Do I own the golf course? Of course not! I just go along with it.

Anyways, back to my story. After being all finger printed in, my boss goes on to tell me what my job will be that day. I normally mow the greens (my favorite job by the way!) but Monday he goes on to tell me I need to hop onto the mower with the rollers. The rollers are very useful in flattening out bumps in a green that should normally be smooth as silk. I'm sure by this time I had the most confused look on my face. My boss continues on by saying that over the weekend we had 'some' cows visit about 40. Again I'm confused because we just intalled a fancy solar powered electric fence so that this very problem could be avoided. My boss carries on by informing me they came in from behind the driving range. Wow, the cows made it all the way to hole number 16? (That's a huge distance between the driving range and this particular hole number.) Apparently, when my boss found all 40 of the cows they were having a disco party on one of the perfect, expensive to build, greens. Okay, that's a funny picture!

A coworker of mine was out enjoying a game of golf this same weekend when all of a sudden, he heard some mooing coming from directly in front of him. He looks up and finds a steer staring right back at him. Knowing my boss was working, Larry pulls his cell phone from his pocket to inform him of the situation. Folks, you do not want cows on a golf course. Before Larry had the chance to phone he sees my boss come up over a hill hearding about 30 cows in his pickup truck. I can just picture my boss' reaction to all this, muttering under his breath, coaxing the cows back the way they came. Larry, being the nice guy that he is, finished his round of golf and proceeded to find my boss, who was fixing the damage these cows made. Larry had in hand a shovel and one of our golf carts, determined to pick up p*oop. Approximatly five hours and about a ton of p*oop later, Larry called it a day.

We are still finding p*oop everywhere and the damage to the greens most likely will not be 100 percent better until next spring. All in all, cows + golfcourses = a huge mess. (But makes for a funny story!)

I love Snow!

Well, I don't really, but it came in quite handy today! We had about 1 1/2 inches of snow fall overnight at the golf course, needless to say, I did not have to go to work today!! Woo Hoo!

In case you were wondering where I went, I'm still here and trying to read everyone's blogs but I'm really lacking any sort of energy to post myself. Just like every year, I was caught off guard at how tired I am after starting work. After being stuck inside all winter, I am sooo not used to having fresh air all the time! I love it though. I come home with a bright red face and seriously chapped lips due to the winds.

Work has been going really well. It seems we have a good team so far. I have been praying for good staff because the last two years have been absolutly terrible in that area. That would be another post for another time! All I have to say though is, I can't believe what kids think they can get away with these days!

Wedding plans have basically been put on hold this week and most likely next week. My parents will be back in just over a week so then we should be starting on the invitations and stuff like that. I still need to find a caterer though. I'm planning on asking a lady in our church because she and her daughter have done other weddings!

Not much else to report over here. Just excuse my lack of posting for a while until I get back into the goove!
