T.D. Jakes and Americanized Christianity

I just finished reading an article in The Atlanta Journal-Constitutionabout T.D. Jakes.  Apparently, Mr. Jakes has decided to take his Megafest outside of America this year.  It will be hosted in South Africa.  The paper describes the event as “part religious festival, part self-help fair, part gospel concert.”  Source.

One interesting quote from the article said:  “The United States has a tradition of superstar preachers. Jakes is among the best known of today’s group, along with Rick Warren of the Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., and Joel Osteen of Lakewood Church in Houston.”  Source.  As I was reading that statement, I thought, “Is this all we’ve got?  Are these the men who represent American Christianity?”  Sadly, I’m afraid that in the world’s opinion, that’s the case.  If you’ll trudge through the names listed in the above quote, you’ll find that not one of them teaches sound doctrine.

I’m afraid this isn’t just a problem for America any longer.  Because of all of our money, inflated egos, illusions of grandeur, bad theology, and hi-fi tinker toys, we have developed the ability to spread our theological sewage throughout the globe.  Consider this:

When Jakes preaches that Jesus died to make people free, and “we are not truly free until we are economically free,†he sounds distinctly American. But the sentiment is not foreign to South Africa, where religious leaders like retired Cape Town Archbishop Desmond Tutu helped lead the fight against apartheid, and megachurches are blooming in Johannesburg suburbs.

Nkanyiso Bhengu, a popular South African actor, TV host and gospel singer, says young preachers across South Africa are copying Jakes’ approach and style after seeing his DVDs. Bhengu listens to Jakes’ CDs when he’s on the road with his gospel group.  Source.

Instead of patterning their walk after the Son of God, preachers and teachers across the world are molding themselves after such people as T.D. Jakes, Joel Osteen, and Rick Warren.  Instead of standing upon God’s infallible Word as the first and final authority, they’re taking their inspiration and methods from T.D. Jakes’ CDs.  The global church has no clue whether the doctrine they are sitting under is aberrant, or whether it’s rooted and grounded in Scripture because scripture has lost its significance in the modern church.

I never understood how anyone could place something so precious and important as their relationship with God, and the state of their eternal soul into the hands of mere mortal man without doing as the Bereans did and searching the scriptures daily to see whether what they say is so.  I just can’t understand how someone can build so much blind trust in someone that they would put God’s Word on the shelf and entrust the well-being of their hearts and spirit to another human being without at least trying to ensure that they are teaching absolute truth.  I guess I’m not that trusting.  First of all, my relationship with my Heavenly Father is too important to be so cavalier about His message to us.  I will not toss it aside and expect someone else to exclusively teach me.  Scripture is God’s message to us; it’s how we get to know Him and His Son…it is how we learn truth…how we grow strong.  If it sits on the shelf and draws dust, it won’t benefit me at all, nor will my walk with God be what it should be.  If God took the time to inspire the prophets and apostles to write His Word over the course of a couple of thousand years, then I think it’s important enough that it warrants reading and studying it.  I want to know what He has to say to me!  Secondly, if I don’t study His Word, I won’t know when I’m being fed heresy, and my eternal soul is far too important to me to chance it!  If I’m sitting under false doctrine, I want to know it!

Biblical illiteracy is epidemic in the church.  As I said above, it’s not just an American problem, it’s global.  The evidence of this is the fact that T.D. Jakes, Patricia King, Benny Hinn, and others have audiences who support them.  Were they truly spiritual, the church would reject them and they would never have an audience, much less a ministry.  Sadly, they have millions of followers.  But, what else do you expect in Laodicea?

Should Christians Expose Error?

Recently, many charges have been launched against those of us who expose error.  The main charge is that we are not showing the love of God; we’re too negative and we’re tearing down the church.

This post over at Lighthouse Trails answers the question of whether Christians should expose error.

I especially like this quote:

“Let us who have been redeemed at the cost of His precious blood be “good soldiers of Jesus Christ.” As the battle against the forces of evil waxes ever more hot, we have need for God-given valour.”  –Dr. Harry Ironside (1876-1951)

A Good Exposé on the Emerging Church

Many people have no clue what Post-Modernism is, and they’ve never heard of the Emerging Church.  In the following video posted on Lane Chaplin’s YouTube channel, you will see a good overview of the Emerging Church.  Please take note of a couple of names mentioned in the video such as Brian McLaren and Doug Paggitt.

In the Post-Modern view, truth is relative, mysticism is promoted, and Biblical truth is open for “personal interpretation,” while absolute Biblical truths are thrown under the feet of stampeding of ministers who are rushing to teach a doctrine of relevance.  In the Emerging church, anything goes!  Anything, that is, except for definite Scriptural truth.

This heresy is a stain in the church, and it’s spreading very quickly.  It’s time to become familiar with it, because it’s not going away.

Three-Year-Old Girl Worshipped as Living Goddess

This world gets more bizarre by the second.  I found this over at Fox News.

KATMANDU, Nepal —  Hindu and Buddhist priests chanted sacred hymns and cascaded flowers and grains of rice over a 3-year-old girl who was appointed a living goddess in Nepal on Tuesday.  Wrapped in red silk and adorned with red flowers in her hair, Matani Shakya received approval from the priests and President Ram Baran Yadav in a centuries-old tradition with deep ties to Nepal’s monarchy, which was abolished in May.

The new “kumari” or living goddess, was carried from her parents’ home to an ancient palatial temple in the heart of the Nepali capital, Katmandu, where she will live until she reaches puberty and loses her divine status.

She will be worshipped by Hindus and Buddhists as an incarnation of the powerful Hindu deity Taleju.

Rick Joyner and Rory and Wendy Alec on Todd Bentley

The more things change, the more they stay the same.  When a leader can’t tell apostasy from true biblical truth, they shouldn’t be in the pulpit.  Rick Joyner is one of those people.

In this article, Rick Joyner addresses the current state of affairs with Todd Bentley.  This statement jumped off the page at me:

There are also profound lessons in almost every aspect of this issue. Resolving them and learning from them will greatly strengthen the church for the future. Personally, I have never doubted that the Lakeland Outpouring was a crucial visitation of the Lord for our times.  Source.

Since the fact that the Lakeland Outpouring was a demonically inspired farce isn’t readily apparent to Mr. Joyner, the only other alternative is that he is not walking in the knowledge of God’s Word.  There is an epidemic in the modern church where those who don’t know God’s Word are trying to teach others.  Is it any wonder the church is blanketed with apostasy?

Joyner said:

Thousands and thousands not only were healed or experienced miracles, but the faith of countless others was lifted.  Source.

I would like to see proof of that, because at last count, not one of the healings or miracles reported at Lakeland was verifiable.  Joyner and others keep stressing the number of healings, but as it turns out, it is nothing but embellishment.  Perhaps he and others think that if they say it long enough, it will make it true.

What is painfully clear is that Joyner and others have a strong desire to see Todd Bentley return to the stage and continue in the ministry.  If Bentley is still the same Bentley that he was before he stepped into the shadows, he doesn’t need to return to ministry; he needs to be sat firmly on the sidelines until he can be taught the true Word of God, and people like Rick Joyner, C. Peter Wagner, Mike Bickle, and all others in the New Apostolic Reformation should be sitting right there with him.

The fact that Joyner is chomping at the bit for Bentley to be restored to his former glory can be discerned in this statement:

At the same time, we cannot keep killing our own wounded. As Galatians 6:1 declares, we have no choice but to restore those who are caught in “any trespass.†I am very confident that Todd  will not only be back in ministry, but will ultimately have a much bigger impact and be walking in even more power than he has yet walked in. I believe this because of what I was shown by the Lord about Todd several years ago. As Bob Jones said, “Lakeland was just a preview of what is to come.†Todd is called to help begin what the Lord called “The greatest show on earth.†It will be the greatest demonstration of Who God is that the world has seen since He Himself walked the earth. This is what the body of Christ is being prepared for and what the Lakeland Outpouring began to prepare the way for.  Source.

Surgically snipping one scripture out of the Bible and attempting to use it to prove your point doesn’t work.  Yes, we are to restore those who are caught in any trespass, but according to 1 Corinthians, chapter 5, there must be repentance first.  That is what is called rightly dividing the Word of truth.

Joyner’s statement that Todd is called to help begin a revival movement that will be the “greatest demonstration of who God is” contradicts everything Scripture says about God.  As I have said so many times before, God has already revealed Himself, and His will, through His Son, Jesus.  If any revelatory knowledge is needed outside of what was revealed through Christ Jesus, then those who are seeking it are walking in darkness.  They have proven they will not hear the scriptures, and if they don’t follow what we KNOW is God’s infallible Word, then they will never be interested in walking in pure truth.

I have been praying for Todd Bentley, that he would grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.  I desire that he would repent and be blessed of the Lord.  There is nothing I would love to see more.  But, I will not stand and cheer when someone so bereft of scriptural knowledge is being pushed to the forefront by those who have less than pure motives.  I firmly believe that those doing this are responsible for the heresy being pushed on the church through those they promote, especially when they themselves have proven to be biblically illiterate.

Rory and Wendy Alec Send Letter to God-TV Viewers

Rory and Wendy Alec, owners of God-TV, have sent out a letter to their viewers stating that God has “released” them to write a letter in order to inform the viewing public where their heart stands on the matter of Todd Bentley.

In their letter, the Alecs’ first order of business was to state that they felt led to:

“…state unequivocally that in the same manner as the Lord instructed us to broadcast and serve The Calls with Lou Engle, to broadcast what was happening at International House of Prayer with Mike Bickle, Rick Joyner and Morningstar, the Solemn Assembly in San Francisco, Battlecry, and Teen Mania with Ron Luce,  Focus on the Families - Prayer Event For America, Day of Prayer For Israel,  and hundreds of  other anointed events over the past three years, we believe that the Lord instructed us to broadcast the Outpouring services at Lakeland with Todd Bentley.”  Source.

When controversy explodes, two of the most common practices is to either distance yourself from it by saying, “we didn’t know,” or to deceptively declare, “we were doing what God told us to do!”  There’s one problem with that latter statement… God would never instruct anyone to air programming that is in open defiance to His Word.  Therefore, the Alecs’ statement that the Lord instructed them to broadcast a heretical revival is the height of dishonesty.  The Alecs’ emphatically declare:

It was not a mistake.

It was not by mistake.

We believe it was a clear instruction from the Lord.  Source.

For lack of a better word … hogwash.  Would the Lord be so short-sighted that He couldn’t see that Todd Bentley was living in willfull sin?  Was He so ignorant regarding His Word that He never knew that Bentley was teaching damnable heresy?  One thing Wendy Alec never seems to clarify is exactly how the Lord could tell them to broadcast this, but then it turn out so disastrously!  Then again, maybe she does.  The Alecs’ letter makes it clear that the failure of Todd Bentley was not his fault… it’s ours.

Who Is To Blame for the Failure of Lakeland?

In the next segment of the Alecs’ letter, Wendy Alec puts the blame for the failure on the discerning church… oh, and on witches and warlocks as well.  She says:

We both kept a very close pulse on the revival since the start of its broadcast—we had firsthand knowledge of the enormous criticism, persecution, and reviling that Todd Bentley was receiving (often we were second contenders for it), but it was Todd Bentley and the Fresh Fire team who received the terrible weight of this.

Todd ministered each day as the revival continued but was consistently and unrelentingly criticized, maligned, and persecuted—the attacks grew increasingly violent—and the heartbreaking thing was that so much of it came from the church.

At the same time, Todd was facing a second wave of attack. This was from the covens, the warlocks—we heard firsthand concerning some of these assignments. The enemy had heard of the great honoring of the Lamb and was determined to destroy it—BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE AND AT ANY COST.

And the cost was Todd Bentley.  Source.

If Wendy Alec is to be believed, Todd Bentley was such a mighty man of God that the enemy was able to destroy him.  Regardless of the fact that Bentley had not one, but two affairs; he would leave the revival and get drunk at local bars; he was known to embellish the truth; he admittedly lied while saying, “thus saith the Lord,” and did so to raise money to build a stadium; he was known by those in his ministry as a pathological liar… and the list goes on and on.  I fail to see how opposition from the discerning church could force him to do such things.  The failures of Lakeland can be directly attributed to state of Bentley’s heart, not the rallying cry of danger from the watchmen on the wall; it can be attributed to the “ministers” and teachers in the New Apostolic Reformation who saw a new cash-cow, and wanted to exalt him in order to further their own selfish agendas.  When the rug was quickly snatched out from under Bentley, they scattered, ducked for cover, and began the almighty spin machine in order to save face.  Some said, “we didn’t know,” and some said, “it was of God, but the church tore Bentley down.”  Sadly, with the biblically illiterate church remaining cozy in their ignorance, many won’t learn from this.  They will continue to walk in blindness.

Alec continues:

Was it because Todd was vulnerable and certain areas of his life were not surrendered wholly? Yes—like so many of us—in all probability.

Was it because the character of Christ was not yet formed in him in the equivalent measure to his gifting? Yes—like so many of us—in all probability.  Source.

Alec’s second statement above should raise a few eyebrows.  If the character of Christ was not yet formed in Bentley, then he was not qualified to preach.  In the second half of her statement, she says that Bentley’s character in Christ was not equivalent enough to properly handle his giftings.  In all my years of knowing the Lord, I have never known God to turn His Spirit loose on someone to the extent that they weren’t wise or stable enough to handle it.  That is tantamount to giving a two-year-old a child a shotgun and expecting them to know how to skillfully use it.  Judging from the Alecs’ statement, God is short-sighted and irresponsible.

For the rest of the Alecs’ letter, please click on any of the source links above.  I think by now you get the point.  The discerning church who courageously stood on the wall and sounded the alarm made their voices heard…and trust me, they were heard.  When we stop questioning and aligning doctrine with Scripture, we have travesties like the Lakeland Outpouring where the prophets prophesy falsely, and the people love it so.  But what will they do in the end?  (Jeremiah 5:31)

A Word of Comfort

For all who walk with the Lord in sincerity and in truth who need a word of encouragement, who feel God is so far off, please know He is wonderfully near…He hasn’t left you, nor would He ever forsake you.  Take rest in Him.

PSALMS 139

1 For the choir director. A Psalm of David. O LORD, Thou hast searched me and known me.

2 Thou dost know when I sit down and when I rise up; Thou dost understand my thought from afar.

3 Thou dost scrutinize my path and my lying down, And art intimately acquainted with all my ways.

4 Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, Thou dost know it all.

5 Thou hast enclosed me behind and before, And laid Thy hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it.

7 Where can I go from Thy Spirit? Or where can I flee from Thy presence?

8 If I ascend to heaven, Thou art there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, Thou art there.

9 If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,

10 Even there Thy hand will lead me, And Thy right hand will lay hold of me.

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, And the light around me will be night,”

12 Even the darkness is not dark to Thee, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to Thee.

13 For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother’s womb.

14 I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Thy works, And my soul knows it very well.

15 My frame was not hidden from Thee, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth.

16 Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Thy book they were all written, The days that were ordained for me , When as yet there was not one of them.

17 How precious also are Thy thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

18 If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with Thee.

19 O that Thou wouldst slay the wicked, O God; Depart from me, therefore, men of bloodshed.

20 For they speak against Thee wickedly, And Thine enemies take Thy name in vain.

21 Do I not hate those who hate Thee, O LORD? And do I not loathe those who rise up against Thee?

22 I hate them with the utmost hatred; They have become my enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts;

24 And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.

Tyler Perry’s Studio Opening Draws A-List Stars

Well, this is interesting:

ATLANTA – Hollywood descended upon Atlanta for the grand opening of Tyler Perry Studios — the first major television and movie studio owned and operated by an African-American film producer.

The exclusive event included a grand tour of the multimillion-dollar facility and a star-studded red carpet.

America’s favorite daytime talk-show host Oprah Winfrey, actor Will Smith, Oscar award-winning actor Sidney Poitier and preacher Paula White were among the invited guests.  Source.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about this Tyler’s theme for the grand opening of his new studio:

Perry was once homeless. The theme for his studio facility’s grand opening was “Imagine That: A Celebration of Faith to Fruition.”   Source.

Faith, yes.  But, faith in what?  Oprah Winfrey is hard core New Age who denies the God of the Bible, and has famously made the statement that Jesus can’t be the only way to Heaven.  Will Smith is a celebrity who allows his children, and others, to be taught Scientology curriculum.  Last, but certainly not least, is Paula White.  Paula White is a Word of Faith teacher who teaches that the favor and anointing of God can be bought with money.

One last thing…. Paula White?!?!  Paula White is an A-List star?  That’s an interesting statement.

Hall of Shame: John Avanzini

At his website, John Avanzini, head of Avanzini Ministries, offers the booklet, “All Preachers Want is Your Money.”  The description of the booklet is as follows:

All Preachers Want Is Your Money

Do you really think your pastor is only after your money?  Do you really believe he is making more money at your church than he could in the secular world?

As you read this book, learn why Satan would not want you to trust your pastor.  You might be very surprised.  Source.

According to this flawed logic, we are to assume that if we really believe that greedy preachers are just after our money, we are being influenced by Satan so as not to trust our pastor.

In case you hadn’t noticed, Word of Faith teachers have false doctrine to protect their false doctrine.  If you see the truth, well never fear… it’s not truth, it’s Satan influencing you to turn you against the true men and women of God who rob you blind and leave you desolate with an empty wallet and theology void of any sound biblical truth.  While you go home to fret over how you will pay the bills after you have given all you have into these wolve’s coffers, they return to their ivory castle in the sky with not a care in the world.

As for Avanzini’s reasoning that a preacher could make more money in the secular world than in the church, I guess we are to assume the preacher is walking in full honor to God because they chose to fleece their millions in the name of God as opposed to earning it in the secular world.

Avanzini doesn’t realize that a preacher could never make this much money in the secular world because the secular world sees these thieves for what they are… money hungry wolves.  They don’t have a product to sell the world, nor would the world be gullible enough to buy it if they did.  Many blasphemies have been committed in the name of God, and sadly, the secular world has more discernment than many in the church in these matters because they reject them outright for the snake-oil salesmen that they are.

Friends, this should not be so.

Joel’s Army by Jewel Grewe

A very dangerous doctrine in the signs and wonders movement is that of Joel’s Army, or Manifest Sons of God.  According to this doctrine, God will raise up an endtime army to subdue and destroy all of the enemies of God.  After the church has conquered sinful earth, Jesus will return and we will lay the earth at His feet.  Pretty much removes Jesus and His righteousness from the equation, doesn’t it?

The implications of such a thing is terrifying.  One needs only look back as far back as the Inquisition instituted and carried out by the Roman Catholic Church to see the results of such heresy.  As with other forms of heretical doctrine, those who stand on God’s Word alone are considered enemies, therefore, those within the believing church would be the first to fall under the sword of Joel’s army.

For a more indepth look at Joel’s Army and what it means to the body of Christ, please click here and read the booklet written by Jewel Grewe.

Melissa Fisher: Mortuary Outreach

Melissa Fisher, with Patricia King’s Extreme Prophetic, talks about her evangelism team’s mortuary outreach, where they go into the mortuaries in an attempt to raise the dead.  Needless to say, it has never worked.

It’s those dead peoples’ fault.  They didn’t have enough faith!

Twilight of the Idols

R.C. Sproul addresses the issue of pluralism and relativism in the church.

The nineteenth-century philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche is famous for his declaration that “God is dead.” That brief dictum does not give the whole story. According to Nietzsche, the cause of the Deity’s demise was compassion. He said, “God is dead; He died of pity.” But before the God who was the God of Judeo-Christianity perished, Nietzsche said that there were a multitude of deities who existed, such as those who resided on Mount Olympus. That is, at one time there was a plurality of gods. All of the rest of the gods perished when one day the Jewish God, Yahweh, stood up in their assembly and said, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Hearing this, according to Nietzsche’s satirical summary, all of the rest of the gods and goddesses died. They died of laughter.

In our day, where pluralism reigns in the culture, there is as much satirical hostility to the idea of one God as there was in Nietzsche’s satire. But today, that repugnance to monotheism is not a laughing matter. In the culture of pluralism, the chief virtue is toleration, which is the notion that all religious views are to be tolerated, all political views are to be tolerated. The only thing that cannot be tolerated is a claim to exclusivity. There is a built-in, inherent antipathy towards all claims of exclusivity. To say that there is one God is repulsive to the pluralists. To say that one God has not revealed Himself by a plurality of avatars in history is also repugnant. A single God with an only begotten Son is a deity who adds insult to injury by claiming an exclusive Son. There cannot be only one Mediator between man and God. There must be many according to pluralists today. It is equally a truism among pluralists that if there is one way to God, there must be many ways to God, and certainly it cannot be accepted that there is only one way. The exclusive claims of Christianity in terms of God, in terms of Christ, in terms of salvation, cannot live in peaceful coexistence with pluralists.

Christian Death Metal???

Can these three words even be used in the same sentence?

Is this the type of “praise” we should offer before God’s throne?  This isn’t praise, this lawlessness and chaos and there’s nothing Christian about it.  The source of this is satanic.  See if you can spot the satanic imagery.

Warning:  Some images are disturbing.

Secretion

The name of this band is: With Blood Comes Cleansing - Horror

Dead Alive

Soul Embraced: Dead Alive

This is My Blood

Soul Embraced: This is My Blood

Christian???

Well, what do ya know about that?  Nine judges for the Presbyterian Church found that a pastor was not guilty of violating scripture when she (yes, she) performed a same-sex marriage ceremony for two women in 2005.

It begs to wonder if those nine judges ever really read scripture.  This is from The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Nine judges for the Presbyterian Church (USA) unanimously ruled today that a Pittsburgh minister was not guilty of violating Scripture or church law when she performed a “purported marriage ceremony” between two women in 2005.  Source.

Pick your jaw up off the floor and read this next bit:

The court, meeting on the North Side in the second day of a trial for the Rev. Janet Edwards, ruled that the constitutions of the church and the state of Pennsylvania define marriage as an act between a man and a woman. Therefore, judges said, the minister could not have done what she was accused of doing.  Source.

Okay, without a little research, I didn’t fully understand what the above statement meant.  I just shook my head and said, “HUH?”  So, upon further investigation, I realized that what the court really meant was that since Pennsylvania defines marriage as being between a man and a woman, the marriage between two women isn’t legally recognized, so even though “Reverend” Janet Edwards performed the ceremony, she isn’t guilty of performing a same-sex marriage because it isn’t legally binding to begin with.  Therefore, they say, Rev. Edwards couldn’t have done what she is accused of… even though she really did!

Talk about loop-holes…that one is as big as Neptune!

Playing fast and loose with God’s Holy Word is the height of dishonor.  God’s Word is abundantly clear on issues such as homosexuality and church discipline.  It’s non-negotiable!  Is it any wonder the so-called church is apostasizing when the leaders are theological illiterates?

God help us.

Talk About Twisted Logic!

All I have to say is, “WHAT!?!?”

To see what I’m talking about, click over to Slice of Laodicea and read this post by Ingrid Schlueter about Tim Stevens, executive public relations correspondent from Granger Community Church, and his response to the report that shows that among the people who attend Granger Community Church:

47% of those attending DO NOT believe in salvation by grace. 57% of those attending DO NOT believe in the authority of the Bible. 56% of those attending DO NOT believe Jesus is the only way to eternal life.

(The above statistics were copied from Slice of Laodicea.)

My own comment is this:  never at a time in Paul’s writings did he say that he was happy that there were people in the church who did not believe in scripture.  Never did he say it was a good thing that there were people in the church who did not believe in Jesus as the only way.  In fact, the apostle Paul thanked God for them when he heard they were still in the faith and growing.  He prayed that they would increase in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

What twisted logic is it to hear that congregants in your church don’t believe in the Bible or Jesus, and then say you’re happy about it?

The church isn’t for the lost, by the way, it’s for the saved.  Our commission is not to bring the lost into the church and entertain them.  We are to go out into the world and reach the lost.  If 57 percent of the people sitting under your pastor’s preaching say they do not believe in the authority of the Bible, and 56 percent say that they don’t believe that Jesus is the only way to Heaven, then something is horribly wrong.

Is Repentance Necessary for Salvation?

In this age of easy believism, the following topic of discussion is much needed in the church today.  Pastor Bob Dewaay, pastor of Twin City Fellowship in Minneapolis, Minnesota, covers this topic on his weekly radio program, Critical Issues Commentary.  It is in two parts.
