painted on it for every destructive weather event. But now, brutal
storms have struck repeatedly at the upper Midwest, hammering the
states of Iowa, Indiana and Wisconsin as well as portions of
Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri and Michigan.

to 11 inches of rain in some areas in as little as 10 hours, quickly
moving people from a sense of security to, in some cases, a fight
for survival. Wednesday night, heavy rains and tornadoes struck
again in Iowa, with St. Louis residence bracing for heavy flooding
along the Mississippi today and drenching thunderstorms expected,
bringing more severe weather and dumping additional rain on already
saturated and flooded regions.
