About Me
Hello there - I'm Peter Upfold. I am an 18-year-old student, independent web developer and blogger.
I am currently a Computer Science student at the University of Reading, currently in my first year.
I previously took a BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners at Andover College, achieving Distinction Distinction Distinction (equivalent to three A grade UK A-levels).
I am passionate about technology and love using computers. My particular interests lie in operating systems, web development, user interfaces and programming, but I enjoy dabbling in all sorts of technology and the issues surrounding it.
If you are looking for some of my free software, you can probably find it either on the projects page. I have produced several open source programs, two aimed towards website developers and designers and one for converting fonts from one format to another.
Want to get in contact? Feel free to use any of the methods listed on the contact page.
Me on the Web
Here are a few places you will find me and my content online.
FOSSwire has over 3,400 subscribers through RSS and email and had over 68,000 absolute unique visitors in May 2008. It has seen up to 140,000 visitors in a month, however, back in September 2007. I have developed a few open source programs and have also been involved in other freelance web development work in the past. I have a personal blog, right here. I run my own web server from home, powering this very website as you read this. The server is Linux-based and I am completely responsible for its administration and management.
