… that someone from a certain brand should speak to me months ago about “endorsing” their product for which I’d get to keep it. Yeah that would be cool but what’s the catch. Hey! There’s no such thing as a free lunch.
Blogging about it is fine and all that. But its a pricey item. There had to be a catch.
So after I asked to see the terms, here was the catch. It called for public appearances at my own cost whenever they wanted. Ah. Sorry mate, but that sounds too much like work to me. Work which takes me away from my real work which pays my bills.
Simply getting the product wasn’t going to cut it. So I said no.
And there was silence.
Recently, months later, I noticed a proliferation of blogs and bloggers featuring said product. Oh joy!
Looks like appearances will no longer be necessary or perhaps these people have the time or have been offered proper cash to make such appearances.
Oh one more thing. I was told it was just limited to 2 bloggers. Well so much for that!
No love lost for me. It would have been fun but I don’t feel bad about not taking up the “offer”. The same way I refused cash to blog about unrelated topics on my blog. And the same way I am refusing cash to write about something I don’t believe in.
I have to believe I’m not a sell out.

Here are 2 pictures that made me smile this week. You might have seen them on Twitter or Twitpic. Yes they are mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!

I call this “The Original Isetan?” Spotted near Kota Raya. You’d have to read my food blog one of these days to find out why I was walking in that godforsaken part of town. Yes it was worth it!

As for this one, I was tickled pink that a shop selling bak kwa would call themselves “Thin” for you would not be “thin” if you continue to scarf down their goodies! Don’t be anal and tell me its their name – I know that but I can and will laugh at it anyway

… down the roads that is.
I laughed like crazy when I saw this article in The Star. Apparently more women are getting nastier behind the wheel (source)
GEORGE TOWN: Women drivers are getting more aggressive than their male counterparts, according to an analyst.
Based on the number of traffic summonses issued and court cases against women, a trend of aggressive driving has emerged among the fairer sex, said Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation analyst Kamal Affandi Hashim.
“Based on what we can see, the attitude of male drivers has improved but women are getting more aggressive.
“Hence, the number of women involved in accidents is on the rise,†he said.
He, however, did not state statistics.
Well, its about time that women stop getting bullied by men who think “Ooh! Another woman driver! Let me try to force her off my lane” Women aren’t just putting around in their little Kancils or hogging the road anymore. We want our right of way and if its the fast lane, so be it. Equality what
More and more often these days, I’m seeing men swerving in the roads because they are too busy texting on their phones so they drive in little spurts which makes it so hard to keep a safe distance from them.
Male attitude has improved? Puh-leeze!

Thanks to a generous friend, i just caught this movie a short while ago. I’d suggest you leave all expectations at the door. Its not a movie for children despite its theme and its not a movie one should watch without knowing the story or reading the books.
Johnny depp was a perfect mad hatter. I enjoyed watching all his scenes. But i left the movie feeling a little wanting. Something was missing and i cant say what.
It bugs me that way
