WP Tiger Admin 2.0

Thats great, I dreaded going back to the old WordPress interface look!

Now to see if I can sum up enough courage to upgrade to 2.0…

You may want to change the version number from 1.3 to 2.0 in the wp-admin-tiger.php file. Downloaded it twice before I realized it was a bug.

Wow Steve, That was a quick update. Nice work!

In the writing section, there is a huge gap between the “Title” and the title entry field. And also, on all of the pages, when I load them there is a split second where it loads the default admin, then loads the Tiger admin.

Other than that, good (and quick) work!

Great work again! I was really getting annoyed by the standard admin interface to WP on my test blog (one can never be too sure that everything will really work together) prior to your releasing v2.

The sole oddity that I noticed with v2 of WP Tiger Admin is that the “log out” link has disapeared from the left-hand column.

Again great work keep it up!

I’m having exactly the same issues as Andrew Hamman, other than that it seems great – very impressive plugin especially since it doesnt alter any of the XHTML structure of the admin interface :)

Been a big fan of this plugin since v1.5 (and your site for longer!) You are a CSS genius!

One thing I noticed in v 2 is that the logout link has vanished… it doesn’t appear in #adminmenu in the markup, but just above it in a div (#user_info).

Andrew and Ross: I’m not seeing the ‘gap’ you’re talking about. Would you mind taking a screenshot? And the ‘Flash of Unstyled Content’ is just because the plugin adds an additional <link> to the head of the page under the main admin css file. The flash happens if there is a pause in loading between the two. On pages that are cached it won’t happen.

About the ‘Logout’ link, I did notice it, but I wasn’t sure if it was used enough to be worth figuring out a placement. Aparently I have my answer. I will address this in the next update.

Ok, 2.01 is up. Same download filename, but a few things have been fixed. The ‘gap’, the logout button has been added to the top bar, and the post page sidebar has room down the whole form. Upgrade away. Again.

I love it.. Regardless of the to little things that are drivng me crazy.. None of my comments are showing on the admin page. And in the edit themes area the window to edit is huge.. Since I just downloaded mine .. I would think that neither of them were already addressed. Or maybe its me..

I’ve had two problems so far with 2.0:

- when I scroll down, the Logout button in the top right corner of the screen disappears. - when i click on a link in the left navigation, the nav jolts a little.

i’m on FIrefox 1.5 on Windows XP

Speaking of comments not showing up. I’m guessing this is the same issue, you’re just not looking close enough ;). The comments aren’t on the sidebar but in the main body of the dashboard.

Ah, see, this is what I get for making updates too quickly without enough testing… =} The logout buttong is fixed, as well as the template edit box, although I couldn’t replicate the jumping nav. I’m not going to version it because that was just my mistake, but I did update the download. Thanks for the catch.

The bottom of user edit window is cutoff. I sent you a pic via email. Anyone else have this issue?

The template editor box seems to be too wide and pushes down below the right sidebar options too. But other than that thanks for bringing my favorite Plugin to Wordpress 2.0!

The logout button will not be displayed if the blog is set to use a localization other than English, because it relies on the value of the title attribute. It took me some time to find that out on my blog.

Why don’t you use the following selector instead? #user_info a[href$=”/wp-login.php?action=logout”] {

Not sure if this was ultimately what fixed it but remember to try forced-refreshing (Shift-Ctrl-R in firefox) your cached CSS and things. I had some weird visual stuff on the Write entry page until I thought to try it after upgrading from v1.3 on wp1.5 to 2.01 on wp2.0

Deepak: According to that screenshot you’re using v1.3, not 2.0. Download and install the 2.0 version, and you should be all set. If you did this, then try to delete your browsers cache and refresh the page.

On the write a post page, if I expand one of the sidebar items, like Post Author, the upload block shrinks in half and gets a scrollbar. I am using Firefox 1.5.

The latest comments part of the admin sidebar is showing up in the main part of the front page above the “Welcome To Wordpress” greeting. I tried re-downloading, re-uploading, refreshing, clearing the cache, and nothing’s worked so far. I’m using WP 2.0 with FF 1.5. I can provide a screen should you need one.

BTW, love the plugin and used it with 1.5.2 and I swear by it. This should be the default WP admin theme.

When I am writing a post in Safari v2.02 the publish buttons are not visible. Here is a screen shot: write screen

Installed Wordpress for the first time (successfully, anyway) just yesterday. Found your plugin today. Gorgeous, easy to install and use, and matches my faux-OSX Windows system perfectly! Great job!

I’ve installed the latest version of the plugin, but I’m noticing another odd bug that is reproducible.

After a post has been published, the screen refreshes and I’m left with the above layout. The textfields are locked at that size, and a page refresh is required to force them back into shape.

I’d love to give this a try but unfortunately I wasn’t even able to install the plugin correctly. My blog is hosted on yahoo, and it won’t let me have a file named “wp-admin-tiger-v2.0”. i tried removing the ”.” and it worked, but then of course the plugin doesn’t show up with my other plugins. Any idea how I can get around this?

Shannon: The file you download is a .zip file named wp-admin-tiger-v2.0.zip. It’s likely that the program you used to download the plugin knocked off the .zip part if the file you have ends in .0. Try adding .zip to the end of that file and extracting the archive. The files you need should be in there.

the only thing that i see is what someone has recently noticed about the recent comments section on the dashboard…

I’ve noticed if, when you go to manage > posts (or pages) > [any post] the ‘preview’ button is dimmed and barely visible behind the discussion (et al) area. Clicking it does what is intended, but the button is all but visible to a casual glance.

Any way of fixing it?
