Friday Quote
When Jesus walked this earth, He came for a purpose. That purpose was to set us free from sin and death at the price of His blood and to bring us back into relationship with the Father. In thinking about this quote, I was visiting with my hubby about the value of one soul. Jesus broke away from the crowds for the one. He took the time to visit with the woman at the well in John 4 and proceeded to tell her things about her life. Thus in turn, she was blessed and went and testified to others. He dealt kindly with the harlot that was caught in adultery. He allowed a woman to interrupt Him to wash His feet with her tears in Luke 7. He saw the desperation in a father's eyes when his daughter was near death and then died. Jesus went to his house to bring life back to the little girl. All those that Jesus stopped and healed, delivered and made whole...it was one by one. He valued the one soul that was in need of a touch of mercy and Life.
Do we see the "one soul" that needs a touch from the Father? Do we take the time to minister to the one person that is broken, wounded or needs healing? Why do we move so quickly through life? Why am I always in a hurry?
The challenge is on! SLOW DOWN. Open your eyes. See the soul that needs a touch from the Master and let the Master use your hand to touch that soul.
Father, would you slow us down and open our eyes to see the value that You have for the one soul. Give us a passionate love for the lost, the hurting, the broken and wounded souls that desperately need to know that You love them and that you are everything that they need. Let us be the vessels of Your love and wondrous power to the souls around us....one by one. Use us Lord! In Jesus Name! Amen!
How does God want to use you today?
Blessings!

Thankful Thursday

I will bless the Lord at all times
His praise shall continually be in my mouth
My soul shall make it's boast in the Lord,
The humble shall hear it and rejoice.
O magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His Name together.
Psalm 34:1-3
His praise shall continually be in my mouth
My soul shall make it's boast in the Lord,
The humble shall hear it and rejoice.
O magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His Name together.
Psalm 34:1-3
It's Thankful Thursday! I can't believe how fast the days and weeks go. Pretty soon it's going to be Christmas! Do you have your Christmas shopping done?? Please don't answer that!
I'm so thankful for my Daylilies in the garden. They are singing wildly to the Father!
I'm so thankful that God has taught me - many times over - that I need to watch the words that come out of my mouth. Are my words continual praise and boasting in the Lord? No matter what the circumstances are around me, I make the choice to praise the Lord, trusting Him that He will turn it around for good for me.
I'm so thankful that we're going to see the grandkids tonight! Just need those hugs and kisses ya know! And lots of them!
I'm so thankful that vacation in 2 weeks and 2 days! My hubby has a continual countdown going! We go to the lake in Minnesota. The family is going except our oldest son Jacob. He just graduated this spring from Physical Therapy school and started a job and his darling wife Kassi is pregnant with our 3rd grandchild. So we will miss them terribly this year. :(
I'm so thankful for my friend Susan who is writing for the Internet Cafe. Susan, your devotions on Sunday ministered to my heart! I'm so proud of you girl.
I'm so thankful that we can exalt the Name of the Lord together on this Thankful Thursday!

Friday Quote
We recently had the pleasure of witnessing the Olympic Swim Trials in Omaha, NE. We watched with great joy as the swimmers pushed themselves for a better time...a faster hundredth of a second. They were totally focused on one thing and they couldn't afford to be sluggish at any point in that race. They could not allow a distraction to slow their course. It could cost them a place in the Olympics.
Are we not the same as believers? We cannot afford to be distracted in our walk of faith. We cannot allow the enemy or circumstances to cause us to look to the left or to the right. But we must keep our eyes focused - with a determined purpose - to press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14)
My hubby and I have surrounded ourselves with people who have gone before us in this race. We look to them for Godly wisdom. We have watched them as they have battled in faith and have waited patiently for the promises of God. We have learned from them and imitated their strengths. We have placed ourselves to be accountable to them.
As believers, we must know that others are watching us also. Young believers in Christ are watching us to learn how to handle life - how to handle trials - how to stand in faith. People watch how we handle success and how we deal with disappointment.
What are we portraying to those who are not in the Kingdom of God yet? What kind of picture are we giving them of being a Christian? That's a whole subject for another time.
Let's not become sluggish in this race of faith. We can finish our course with great joy. We can help one another keep our eyes focused on the high call of God on our lives. We can pick each other up and encourage each other....."You can do it". Let's run together!
Blessings on your weekend.

Thankful Thursday

Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don't try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he's the one who will keep you on track.
Proverbs 3:4-6 The Message

Thankful Thursday....what a precious day!
I'm so thankful that we have an amazing Father God that we can trust with all things. He's the one that gives us understanding and wisdom and He will keep us on track in our lives.
I'm so thankful that our home was protected in the huge wind storm the other night. We lost alot of branches, but nothing fell on the house!
I'm so thankful that we got to be with our grandchildren on Sat. and again on Monday! WooWhoo!! What fun! Mike and I had met some friends for lunch and popped over to our daughter's house afterward. My granddaughter Grace (she's 4) smelled my arm and said "Oh Nana, you smell like chicken nuggets!" She makes me laugh!
I'm so thankful for makeup and face creams and hair dryers and hair products that put me all together so I look nice for my hubby. Hey, I'm a high maintenance babe, so all those different products are a real blessing! :)
I'm so thankful for Iris. She hosts this special day for us here in bloggyland. For more thankful hearts, visit her here.
Blessings to you all!!

Thankful Thursday
Praise ye the LORD.
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good:
for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalm 106:1

It's Thankful Thursday. Yeah!!
I'm so thankful for our farmers and all that they do. This spring has been hard on them with the over abundance of rain, so crops were planted late. Some farmers had to replant again due to rain and flooding of the fields. The crops have been looking beautiful and growing well. Then recently there was hail that stripped the leaves in many fields. So I say, thanks to the farmers who work so hard many times in the midst of diverse circumstances.
I'm so thankful that Mike and I had a much needed quiet time at home on the 4th. Very sweet!!
I'm so thankful for the daylilies in my garden that are blooming so beautifully. They sing praises to God and if you listen closely you can hear them sing! No Kidding! :) Below are pictures of some of my garden joys.

Thankful Thursday

Therefore if the Son makes you free,
you shall be free indeed. John 8:36
you shall be free indeed. John 8:36
I'm so thankful for freedom in Jesus and the freedom to worship Him
I'm so thankful for our military men and women who fight for our freedom in this nation. I get teary-eyed when I see them. I need to express my gratefulness to them.
I'm so thankful for our kids that gave my hubby and I tickets to see the Olympic Swimming Trials last Monday. It was a Father's Day gift for Mike. He was a swimmer growing up and through college. He qualified for Nationals and considered the possibility of the Olympics. But God had a different plan. What a great time we had on Monday!
I'm so thankful that my daughter and her new hubby were able to find a nice apartment and get moved. The apartment is actually on the same floor and down the hall from where they were! Moving is always so much fun!
I'm so thankful for this weekend. We're looking for a quiet weekend together and catch up on some things around the house and yard.
I'm so thankful for Iris who hosts Thankful Thursday. Check here for more thankful hearts.
Let freedom ring!!
Blessings on your weekend.
