Yes I've been slightly MIA for the last few weeks. Morning sickness and tiredness has taken the best of me. In all honesty, it's taken every ounce of energy I have to keep up with the kids, the house and the hubby. But with all that aside, I thought I'd give a quick update for everyone.
Morning sickness is coming to an end!! But as that ends, the migraines start. It tends to be a pattern with every pregnancy. My doctor is seeing me every 2 to 3 weeks to keep an extra close eye on the blood pressure. So I'll soon be able to tell her about the headaches. The baby looks good. We've had 2 ultrasounds so far and it's the coolest thing to see how much the baby grew from 6 weeks to 9 weeks! My next appointment is next week and we'll be able to see out little one again. It's really amazing me that children really are "knit together" in their mothers womb. God truly amazes me!
Chris is working like crazy! He was thrilled when tons of volunteer opportunities basically fell in his lap. He and I both are going to working at Alex's school doing all sorts of different things.
The kids are doing great. Alex is still really liking school, although we're struggling to keep certain attitudes and influences at a minimum. He's growing into a wonderful young man! Kate is turning into a little helper. It's so cute to see Luke fall down and her run to him and say "oh baby are you ok?" Luke is growing! And loving Blue's Clues. He's starting to talk a lot more too, and nurse a lot less. He turned 2 back in January! So that's 2 years of nursing for me too.
My close friend is returning next week. I'm counting down the days!! Our kids get along well and she and I are a lot alike!
We're looking forward to this new season of life. We look forward to the new baby and using the rest of our time in Germany well! Till next time..... 0 comments
Love Comes Softly
Labels: Reading TimeWhat an excellent book series. I finished it right before the new year. Now I'm loaning it out to friends where they can enjoy it as well. Through this eight book series, you'll feel like you're part of the Davis family! Very well written, Christian stories!! I enjoyed them better than the movies. Janette Oak did an amazing job. 1 year today!!
Labels: Family News, German LivingThis time last year I was finally laying down on a bed in a hotel room with my 3 tired children and hubby spread out across the room. It was a long 12 hours flight with no rest at all. The snow on the ground was a welcome surprise but the coldness was different. More cutting I'd say. The spring and summer were beautiful thought the summer was too hot to be without AC. the fall went by too fast and quickly turned into winter. So here we are....one year later!! Here's to 2 more years in Germany!!! Full of adventure, fun, family and God's love!! 0 comments Posted by Miranda at Thursday, January 07, 2010
Bible Reading Plan

2009 GratiTuesday
Labels: Faith, Family News, Gratituesday
This is my last Gratituesday in 2009. As I reflect on the past this year, I'm eternally grateful for the Lords presence around my family and myself.
Our year started out on a 12 hours flight with 3 children under 4 from St. Louis to Germany! That was a challenge, but with constant prayer and clinging to the Lord we managed to make it with everyone and everything we left with.
A new country has brought so many new opportunities. New places to see, new to people to meet. But most of all, more chances to express defend our Faith. There have been plenty of times when Chris and I have shared out faith and beliefs with other, only to hear "you really believe all that stuff?" As Chris said, " If all the sudden a burning bush started talking to me, you darn right I'd listen."
God was near me all year long, but very very close during the 6+ months the Chris was gone. I never knew how much I'd miss him until I didn't wake up next to him everyday. Our marriage is stronger as we strive to see the difference in our roles before the Lord. I am learning to submit the way I should. Sounds silly and so "not 2009" but if we continue to live the way the Good Lord set it out to be, then we will save ourselves heartache later on in life. Deployment does either two things: makes you or breaks you. Through this time we've grown in faith and our love for Christ, and we've grown in our love for each other. I'm truly grateful to have a wonderful man like him in my life!
In this past year, Luke turned 1, Kate turned 3 and Alex turned 5 and started school. I fought Chris everyday to let me home school the kids. It is still something I feel very passionate about but I submitted to my husband and the Lord blessed us. Alex LOVES school and honestly I love him being in it. He's made so many friends and loves his teacher. He's learning to share his faith with other people. He's like to tell everyone about Jonah and the Whale. He's learning so much. I could have taught him, yes, but I see now that for our family this was a good decision to send him to school. It's not like I stop teaching him when he gets home. I don't expect the school to teach him about the grace and mercy of Christ, that's our job as his parents. Kate is such a sweet girl!! She always brings a smile to my face. She's a helper at heart. I giggle to myself thinking of what a wonderful wife she'll make a man on day (far, far in the future). She loves helping with things. And her favorite things to do are help fold laundry, doing dishes and baking. She does it with such joy that I wish I could have the "peep" in my step as I tend to my daily task. Luke is often referred to as the "grump". I don't argue because much of the time he is!! He just recently started sleeping through the night and Chris and I both can see a difference in his attitude. He's at the age now where his personality is started to come out more. We learning to look for the best in his grumpiness. He is very tender though. He loves to cuddle. I secretly love the moments when he wakes to nurse at night, just to be able to have a little cuddle time with him. Each of our children are truly a blessing! And I'm very happy to say, we should be adding another little blessing in August/September of 2010!!
Thinking of all the work the Lord has done in our lives in just one year makes me cry! He's grace and mercy overwhelms me. I pray we grow even closer to him and his love. And that he will give us wisdom to lead our family to Him.
Happy New Year!!! 2 comments Posted by Miranda at Tuesday, December 29, 2009
