Why Would Clinton Supporters Vote For John McCain and Not Barack Obama?

Why Would Clinton Supporters Vote For McCain? - by Catherine Morgan (cross-posted at BlogHer)
I think all the talk about women supporters of Hillary Clinton, voting for John McCain, is being overblown by the media. Shocking.
Yes, it has been a tough time to be a Hillary supporter. And yes, there are a lot of fresh wounds that will take time to heal. However, I do believe that most women who supported Hillary, did so because of her positions on the issues, and not just because she is a woman. For that reason, I have to believe that after careful consideration of the issues (especially women’s issues), Clinton supporters will see that a vote for McCain, would be a vote against women.
For the record, I admit…I’m still holding out hope for the dream ticket. But, no matter how this all shakes out, come November, I’m voting Democrat.
Here is some of what other bloggers are saying about this issue…
Will Pro-Choice Women Vote For McCain?
Following up on my post from yesterday on John McCain’s bid for Hillary Clinton’s female voters, I see my good friend Arianna Huffington has finally joined the ranks of pro-choice bloggers and writes about a promising poll by Planned Parenthood. The poll concludes that many of McCain’s supporters in swing states are pro-choice, and don’t realize what a reactionary barbarian he is when it comes to a woman’s right to control her own body.
From an Open Letter to Women Supporters of Hillary Clinton
I have family members who have strong ties to Bill and Hillary, one of whom campaigned with them during the primaries. I can’t tell you the love and admiration she has for the Clintons. However, she is going to set aside her personal feelings and work hard to ensure an Obama presidency. She is well-aware of the consequences if he is not elected.
You may choose to follow Hillary’s lead and switch your allegiance to Obama. You may also choose not to vote; or (as some of you have indicated) vote for John McCain The latter two options are one-in-the-same. Since record numbers of Democratic voters are expected to turn out for November’s elections vs. a lesser amount of Republican voters, a non-vote will essentially benefit McCain.
Should you choose to vote for McCain, you would be wise to study up on McCain’s positions regarding issues which are important to most women.
White Women To vote Against Reproductive Rights
Yeah, that’ll show him!
John McCain is in favor of forced pregnancy, but these women would rather vote for him than Obama.
John McCain’s healthcare plan is “let the market handle it” (like it has been handling it so far), but these women would rather vote for him than Obama.
John McCain is obsessed with fighting wars and extending the war of choice on Iraq, but these women would rather vote for him than Obama.
Why? Because they seem to feel that Hillary Clinton is somehow entitled to the nomination, despite the fact that she didn’t get the votes.
A Hidden Well: Obama in 08…
I just ordered an Obama in 08 bumper sticker from moveon.org. Hillary was my candidate of choice, for many reasons, but mainly because she has been a champion for women’s reproductive rights, justice, and health for thirty years. However, the reality is that Barack Obama, not Hillary Clinton, has been chosen as the Democratic presidential nominee. And sure, I experienced some initial disappointment over this. But it is what it is, as my friend Jayne would say. So now I’m ready to step up to the plate in support of Obama and do everything in my power to make sure that he is elected the next president of the United States.

I can’t figure out why so many Hillary supporters (of whom I was one, until, you know … she lost) are so bitter about her losing to Obama. Maybe women aren’t accustomed to having this kind of shot at The Big Game. But in case they aren’t, here’s a very important lesson:
Sometimes, you lose.
There. It’s easy. Losing is a part of sports, it’s a part of politics, and it’s a part of life. I cannot even *fathom* why a Hillary supporter would turn around and vote for McCain just out of spite. You do know that the Republicans trashed this country, right? You do know that they undid literally every bit of good that Hillary’s husband (remember him?) did, right? You do know that John Paul Stevens is hanging on by a thread, right? I just can’t figure Hillary supporters out.
Or, maybe I can. After surviving a hellish marriage to an older woman for 10 years, the reaction from the Hillary Clinton camp feels oddly familiar: Lingering bitterness and spite over a perceived wrong over which you have no control. Hey, Hillary Camp: We lost. Period.
And hey, Hillary: Too many people just didn’t like you. You and Obama played by the same rules (yes, the same rules). The “liability” of his race and middle name were just big as that of your gender. Obama made the same kinds of mistakes that you did. Like you, he campaigned his ass off, in town after town, state after state. But in the end, more people in more states with more delegates liked him. As someone who did just about everything she could, starting in 1992, to alienate herself from a huge segment of the population, Hillary Clinton should be happy that she got as far in the process as she did.
Actually, I get the feeling she *does* know this, which is why she’s been meeting with Obama. She’s got much more at stake in this than any of her supporters, and even *she* knows that it’s time to move on.

NO way!!! You Obama freaks have called Hillary and her supporters names for months. Now it is time for you to pay the price. There is no way in hell Obama is getting my vote. He has pulled the race card numerous times during the campaign. He and his wife are pathetic Americans.
My family of 12 are voting for McCain.

Because Clinton supporters, deep down, are simply racist. As teh desperation started to set in first w/ S. Carolina, the candidate herself, her surrogates like Ferraro, her main campaign aides, her husband all publicly used racism in their public comments, and openly appealed to racists to flock the primaries. Like with Pennsylvania and begging for the endorsement of Richard Scaife, the architect of Hillarys “vas right wing conspiracy,” and Rush Limbaugh.
This is what they did in public. Reporters have referred to even worse appeals they made to supradupradelegates in private.
Then they claim they’re doing it because Obama has somehow played the “race” card.
They’re just desperate to keep the White House white and they’ll go to any lenghths to do so. Which also explains the various “assasination” comments Hillary herself made in public, several times.

I voted Hilary Clinton, and only support Hilary Clinton, No matter what Hilary Does suspend her campaign concede her campaign. No matter what Hilary does she could even support Obama and campaign for Obama I will never Vote for Barack Obama, I do think Amercia is ready for a black president, just not Barack Obama,,, The way The Democratic party handle this election with the Corporate Media propaganding this whole election, Turned this election upside down,, Obama could of ran over someone,, like Haley Berry, No one would care and still vote,, Obama..
There several million Voter right now like my self, will not ever vote for Barack Obama, Many like my self will be Voting for McCain, my reason is simple,, the Obama voter came on CNN & MSNBC and said if obama does not win the primary, Obama supporter will vote for McCain, Democratic party did not do anything to the obama camp to stop ,, why is obama party splittin the party in half, Now pelosi and many other are blamming Hilary and kept on with the propaganda Corporate Media, Obama Said on the new so many time,, does not Matter, if your Democrat or Republican,, you want the right person for the right Job,, He is so right,,when He said that we wanted Hilary,, Well Congrats to Obama his supporter got him to the primary,,,but He will never win the election,, for Prisident, I will not stop with my blogging,, who is the best man for the job between Barack & McCain,, will vote for McCain he will be way better than Barack Obama, I can put up for McCain for 4 years and Hilary Can run again, Pelosi and the rest of the democrat party,, days are number at this point, For pushing Hilary out and ruining her Career, Even now During Clinton Exit speech,, Democratic party Told Hilary if she does not back there little puppet Barack Obama they will ruin her career,, In my opinion They all ready Ruined Hilary Clintons Career, Right Now I am goint listen to one thing Barack Obama said, and that is, like I said, it does not matter if your Democrat or republican who is the right person for the job,,,, Hillary supporter need to stick together, Vote for McCain or just not vote for we need the right person,,, Hilary is up on stage right now saying what pelosi and the democratic party are telling her what to do,, or Economy is down and the way the propaganda Media is,, we are turning into a 3rd world country,, by rigging the election thru the media, Hilary Supporter who really want Hilary to be president Need to vote for McCain or just not Vote for Barack Obama, let McCain win,, there nothing more he can do as president, Congress will not let him it Congress who controls everything,, not the president, Pelosi and the a lot of the democratic party ruined Hilary Career, If all Hilary Voter, stick together, than We can restore Hilary Career and make her President, in 4 years. if you vote for Obama we have to wait maybe 8 years or 4 years and republican will be office, if Obama wins the presidency he will only be 4 year term,,, I say give all your supporter not to the democratic party, but to Hilary Clinton.. democratic party needs all of them need to leave office and get fresh people in there, who can unite the party not keep it separated and force unity, to who they want not who the voter want,, Hilary would of won this election, DNC screwed her with floriday and Michigan if those vote were counted at the beginning she would of won this race along time ago..and for the sexest Media, Like CNN & MSNBC… will continue to not report the new but Make it up as they see fit, All Hilary supporter need to unit together.. and stick together,, Margaret Thatcher was prime Minister 30 years ago,, but American Men and New Bias, is keeping woman down for personal gain, Like Keith Oberman, & Chris Mathews Who are the biggest Sexest on this MSNBC stations,

Good post, Catherine. I always suspect that respondents like those who claim to be Hillary supporters who now will vote for McCain actually are McCain voters trying to capitalize on whatever might help them win (especially when they repeatedly misspell her name). I’ve voted as an independent in almost every presidential election, and I generally agree with folk singer/storyteller Utah Phillips’ statement that, “if you vote for the lesser of two evils, you’re still voting for evil.†But on the rare occasions when I’ve lived in a state where my vote might actually matter (mostly I’ve lived in heavily red states where the outcome was a foregone conclusion), I’ve had enough sense to vote for the person most likely to support my interests.
One thing I do know: Conservatives will revel in the irony if disgruntled women voters give McCain the votes he needs to win and finally guarantee the Supreme Court majority that will overturn Roe v. Wade. Much of the reason for the current court majority is that Republicans who disagreed on various things–-taxation, immigration, war, abortion, etc.–-managed to put aside their differences to vote for one bad nominee after another. As a result, we’ve all lost–-but progressives have lost the most. And those of us who care about women’s rights likely will be the biggest losers if McCain wins.
June 7, 2008 at 10:31 pm
Neither a supporter of Obama nor Clinton, I find myself agreeing with James … I think that a lot of the comments are fakes. On the Republican side, remember how many people said that they’d never back McCain? Then McCain won the nomination. Most of the Romney, Thompson, Huckabee, Giuliani, and Hunter people are now behind McCain. Maybe not the Paul people, but it’s tough to say.
Of course, I didn’t get behind McCain, but that’s another story.
At the end of a primary season, there can often be a lot of hurt feelings that make people feel like they can never vote for the winner. But I think you’re right, Catherine, that most people will get over it and vote for the candidate they accept, not just try to hurt the other guy.
Of course, if all the Republicans vote for Obama because they hate McCain and a lot of Democrats vote for McCain because they resent Obama, then this election might be the most insane event in US history!

I won’t voter for Obama. I am a person who does not go for second best. I will not vote. I don’t connect to him at all. He is far too left for me.I am a moderate democrate not a left winger. Hillary was more moderate. I cannot go against my values to support him
June 8, 2008 at 4:55 pm
Plus I think he has insulted all the American people in many ways. Not everyone needs to be saved or is racist. Not everyone feels America has disappointed them.I think his speeches have gone where poiltics does not belong. He is not a minster or rabbi or cleric from any tradition yet he talks like a preacher. I find this highly disturbing. I have never voted Republican in my life. I am a registered Independant who always votes democratic but Obama’s style of preaching and sermonizing turns me off. I don’t like the errors he has made about history. I don’t think he showed good judgement handling the Rev. Wright or allowing his supporters to trash the Clintons. So there you have it,one person’s reasons for not voting for Obama. I just can’t. I may write in Clinton’s name not sure.
June 8, 2008 at 9:56 pm
I would NEVER vote for a Republican. I am a Democrat. Of course, democrats want democrats in the White House. Although, I am having a terrible time with this. I’m a 50 year old woman who is well educated. In my mind, Hillary is the only candidate for President. It’s not about winning or losing…it’s bigger than that. Thinking I could just “switch over”, I went on the Obama website today and read some of the blogs listed under “Thank you Hillary†and I got sick to my stomach. They are welcoming Hillary supporters and tearing her down at the same time. I realized Hillary and her campaign spoiled us. We received emails on a everyday basis. Uplifting, considerate, and keeping us in the know. At my age I realized today there is no way I can become a part of the Obama team. It’s impossible. It’s like moving into someone elses home that you don’t know. Only a Hillary fan will understand this. Since my vote counted for 1/2 in the primary, I’m afraid it will count for zero in the election.
June 9, 2008 at 5:27 am
The unity pony left a long time ago when we were shoved off Huffington Post, Daily Kos, My DD and every other democratic blog, when MSNBC and the other media outlets were calling our candidate a whore, when the bros before hos t shirts were everywhere. There WAS a relentless blood bath of sexism and not one, not one of Obama’s supporters spoke up against it but, most importantly neither did Obama or this party. I waited. I wanted them to. Then there was Brazile and her bending the rules for some states but, not others. The SOROS connection taking Moveon.org and turning it into an all Obama all the time org. There is so much more to this than win or lose fair and square…if you don’t want to see that it’s up to you but, there won’t be any unity.
Frankly, I fail to understand you. Now I’m told that Obama has the same policies as Hillary. Yes, some of which he flat out stole from her to claim as his own ala Alice Palmer.
No I won’t vote for him now though I considered it early on. All over the net I’m seeing if I don’t vote for him I am a closet republican and a racist. Give me a break.
You won’t understand it. I talked on the phone for an hour with my local democratic party leader who supports Obama. She finally understood and agreed that she had missed the point of what we are saying. To me at this point, after the vile and repugnant way this first viable female candidate was treated while you all jumped on the bandwagon, I would rather shove nails in my eyes than vote for Obama.
For months on end I tried to open up dialoge about this with even one of you and all I got back was vile insults. Obama has run a campaign worse the GWB against one of his own all the while projecting blame for what he was doing onto someone else.
No, I won’t go to the back of Obama’s bus. I’m sick and tired of the more qualified woman having to do that. I RESENT Obama running right now and splitting this party along lines of race, age, gender and class again while blaming Hillary for being “polarizing” He’s forty six, has few to no qualifications and yes he could have waited for the “good of the country and the party” We might have had a unified party and a possible sixteen year run at the White House…sheer narcissism that he did not see it that way ESPECIALLY since his policies were nearly identical to hers *again because he stole most of them from her platform*
We are not going to come along like good girls this time and reward a man who rode in on this bloodbath of sexism and getting Hillary to ask us to isn’t the way this works.
It’s not up to Hillary and this is about something bigger now. It’s about pre loading caucus states and then CHEATING at nearly every one of them. It’s about paying kids to come in from out of state and bully voters at caucus, it’s about not allowing voter lists to be checked. He is the PRESUMPTIVE nominee and the very least you could have done was to give her the respect she deserved as being the first viable female candidate. Instead?? All over the blogs there is outrage that she wasn’t bullied out even quicker! Obama has painted her as a racist and that’s something else I won’t forgive.
He’s the most divisive politician in recent history all while saying he is not.
Now then, you have Brazile to thank for drumming up this b.s. so she can expand the coffers of this party but, it will be at the expense of the G.E. You will do it without us. Remember? She told us to stay home??
You cannot abuse people on one hand and then expect them to vote for your candidate. You might have been able to do that but, the rampant b.s. verbal abuse, cheating and all the rest. We are done. And yes, we will do ANYTHING to keep this sham candidate out of the W.H. including voting for McCain.
If you really gave a damn about the things you say you do you’d have voted for the more qualified candidate with the same policies it only makes sense to do that. There have been so many LIES told about Hillary Clinton in this campaign I’m am beyond disgusted. I will never vote for Obama.
I’m not alone. So you can understand or not. I frankly do not give a shit.
June 9, 2008 at 12:26 pm
For me, the final straw was the vote-stealing and the DNC’s RBC debacle. Up until that point I might have voted for Obama, despite his divisive campaign, despite his total lack of experience, despite his fealty to Republican politics. (I am frankly amazed at how little his supporters actually know about what he proposes, and how closely his ideas align with those of Reagan, Bush I, and Dick Cheney.)
I might have forgiven all of this, although it would have been with a heavy heart, if the Democratic Party had not piled insult upon injury by rigging the primary and caucus votes, disenfranchising two states, and overturning their own rules in order to help drag their chosen, but badly floundering, candidate over the finish line over the will of the people, who voted overwhelmingly for Hillary and strongly repudiated the “chosen one.”
Now, there is no going back. Remember when we all said Dubya was “selected not elected”? Well, Obama was selected–not elected. And I refuse to reward our party–the party that watched in horror as Republicans shut down the Florida recount–stab its own voters in the back. No. I just cant’ do it. Maybe other Dems can, on the issue of party before country. That’s fine for them, but frankly, they are wrong.
And those of you who want to concern-troll us about womens’ rights, if you really gave a crap about all peoples’ rights and especially women’s rights you would have voted for the candidate who had a much stronger record on all those issues. SO take your fear-mongering and shove it where the sun don’t shine.
June 9, 2008 at 12:32 pm
P.S. Re SCOTUS: Obama wanted to vote to confirm Roberts until one of his aides explained to him that it wouldn’t be “politically prudent,” and then he voted against the filibuster (which Hillary supported) of Alito. He wants an anti-choice SCOTUS as badly as McCain does, he’s just better at lying about it and bamboozling his stupid followers.
June 9, 2008 at 1:44 pm
“…if you really gave a crap about all peoples’ rights and especially women’s rights you would have voted for the candidate who had a much stronger record on all those issues.”
Some of us did. But the fact that we didn’t get our way doesn’t mean we’ll now turn around and vote for the remaining candidate with the worst record on those same issues.
June 9, 2008 at 5:20 pm
I played a lot of sports when I was younger, so I’m having a hard time understanding how “Democrats” can be so willing to take their balls and go home after one (albeit crushing) loss. I went between Obama and Hillary early in the primaries, actually appreciating Hillary’s detailed plan on healthcare a bit more than Obama’s, but turned away from Hillary as her tone became more strident and divisive.
Look, the media was unfair to Hillary, but you act as if Hillary hadn’t been sticking her thumb in the Washington establishment’s eye for the last 10 years. Frankly, it would have been 1000 times worse if she’d been the nominee, as Washington dragged a decades worth of skeletons out of their closets to take swings at Hillary (especially those who might have resented being lumped into the VRWC, a term coined by HRC when she was being vetted in the 90s). You’re telling me she was the victim of an unfair press, which might be true, but I don’t vote for victims. And if the press’ treatment of her was this much of a dealbreaker for her, then maybe it’s a GOOD thing she wasn’t the nominee, because they would have been 1000 times harder on her in the general. I think Obama’s tone was a little easier for the press to latch onto, since he wasn’t rubbing their noses in the “unfair coverage” at every press conference, morning show chat, and SNL skit he did, so for better or worse, Hillary set up the press as the boogeyman, and the press won. If she couldn’t handle the “liberal media” in a contest against another Democrat, I don’t like her chances against a REPUBLICAN.
So now you’re going to tell me that the DNC stole the election from Hillary. Remember when Hillary was the presumptive nominee, and she joined all of her fellow Democratic candidates to rebuke those state Dem parties that broke the rules that SHE SIGNED ONTO? If the system had been so clearly unfair, then surely a genius like Hillary and that turd Mark Penn would have pointed it out, and she could have used her formidable influence in the Democratic party to fix the rules. But at THAT time, she was the presumptive nominee, and had no problem with the rules that she was going to ride, unopposed, straight to the White House. Again, I think the rules are not at all fair in the Democratic primaries, but they’ve been like that since Bubba won using those rules, and you don’t change the rules halfway through a game, especially when you don’t start complaining about them until you start losing.
I’m not sure how many of you had friends who voted for Nader in 2000, or voted for him yourself, because you thought Gore and Bush were just different flavors of evil vanilla. But 8 years later, I think we can all agree that this was a ridiculous assumption. Hell, I would have been tempted to vote for McCain in 2000 had he gotten the nomination, and literally slap myself every time I remind myself of that now. But let’s set aside for a moment the merits of the McCain vs. Obama argument (because anyone who would chose an anti-choice, pro-torture, mortgage the house to give rich people a tax break McCain over even a mediocre Democrat isn’t a “real” Democrat, you’re just a sore loser). Let’s focus on the person for whom your heart still pines: Hillary.
You are at a crossroad in history, and no one knows it more than Hillary. She is the greatest, smartest female politician in American history, hands down. And she had really shitty luck in that she represented a Democratic establishment that a lot of Democrats had begun to resent, or at least question, at a time when another candidate was articulating exactly this. It’s a changing of the guard, and you can call me all sorts of names (lefty, hippy, nutroot, whatever juvenile slur you can hurl my way, and you did when I supported Dean, but guess what, I didn’t take my ball and go home, I sucked it up and voted for Kerry, not evil George W. just because Dean was treated unfairly), but a lot of people looked at her sense of entitlement and were reminded that her advisors and her inner circle were the same people that had tried to keep a lot of us out of the Democratic establishment for a long time. She could have taken the mantle of Dean ‘04, the mantle of change, but instead stuck with the tired DLC model that worked for Bill in the 90s. She made her play, and it didn’t work. So now what?
If you really care about Hillary, you would care about her legacy. And she’s at a crossroads right now, and YOU are the people who can make or break her legacy. Do the right thing, unite with the Dems, accept that an Obama ticket might not be perfect, but he will surround himself with Dem policy wonks and leaders who have plenty of experience, passion, and heart, just like Hillary. You can come back to the fold and write Hillary’s history as such: she fought an incridible, historic campaign, came up just short, and then put her money (and her supporters) where her mouth is and continued to do WHATEVER SHE COULD to champion those causes that she finds so important to America (goals that aren’t all that different from Obama’s, if you really stop with the invective and think clearly).
Or, you could walk away from the Dems at the time when your party, your country, and your CANDIDATE needs you most, and let Hillary’s ultimate legacy be that she saw fit to destroy the Democratic party she had worked so hard to build up and handed the Republicans four more years to destroy this country. Knowing as much as I know about Hillary, and knowing how important healthcare, choice, human rights, and sane foreign policy is to her, I’m pretty sure she’d like history to see her (and you) as putting dedication to her ideals above petty infighting.
It’s in your hands. Will history remember Hillary the liberal lioness, champion of all that is good and just and all that makes us Democrats, or will history remember Hillary the victim, who sold her convictions to John “100 Years in Iraq” McCain because she didn’t get her way? I know how SHE would like to be remembered, but YOU all are really the ones who determine this. the Hillarycrats have a choice to make, for your girl, your country, and your consciences. As someone who would have voted for her without hesitation would it have been different, I’d like to think my fellow Democrats hold their convictions more closely than this high school popularity contest craziness. Do the right thing.

I just listened to an NPR interview with a woman attorney in California who claims she will vote for McCain vs. Obama for the following reasons:
1. Obama has never accomplished anything, McCain has. Well, yes, what a loser to only be U.S. Senator and presidential nominee. Come on, you can’t be serious. And just look at what McCain has “accomplished” by backing every single Bush policy while lying about it in public. Just look at his voting record. I used to support the lying sack base on his public statements. Then I looked at his voting record.
2. McCain supports the environment. What? How? When???
3. McCain is more centrist & will be able to unify Congress. Well, this is almost too obtuse of a comment to even rebut but once again, McCain is a lying opportunist who will be nothing more than a more ruthless Bush III term. Look at his webisite. One of his top agendas is to continue replacing judges who “make law instead of enforcing it”.

A vote for Obama would be vote against the unborn which are females as well as male and that’s the biggest vote agaisnt women their is. He voted for late term abortion, the murderer. No true Christian would vote for this Muslin in disguise. Wake up America Wake up Christians. You vote agaisnt him is a vote for the Christian way of life. Won’t it be interesting to see if the Christian right vote for this evil man.

I supported Howard Dean 4 years 5 years ago and since that time I have been blogging almost daily. When a lot of the blogs started seeing bloggers go after Hillary and support Obama and chase of Hillary supporters and then with real insult if you stayed to fight - you got banned.
I listened to Air America daily - Left Serius and other progressive talk shows then they all started this landslide towards Obama and if you were a Hillary supporter the talk show host’s like Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller, Rachel Maddow all started Bashing Hillary and her supporters often going over the line with real HATE towards the Clintons. I really am shocked that Hillary can show up for Obama now after what I have seen and heard these last few months (5 Months of hell).
I used to watch MSNBC religously until they pulled a FOX move and made Obama their man and Keith O. went so far as to suggest Hillary go into a room with a man and only the man come out - suggesting he kill or kick the living shit out of Hillary. I cannot and will not even turn MSNBC on again in my lifetime - they went to far.
I grew up in a single parent home. I had a Mother to raise 9 children without any help from my father. I hold massive respect for Women and Mothers. Hillary Clinton would have been one GREAT PRESIDENT of th USA! I have never voted for a Republican in my life, well except for the time I voted for Regan when I was born again and 18 (I think I get a pass for that vote - I didn’t know any better. My Mother has alway’s voted Democrat as her Father did before her.
We will be voting against all the lies, cheating, stealing and downright dishonest campaign Barack Obama ran. We will be voting against the corporate media candidate.
We will vote for a man who has never taken an earmark - who is full of honesty and integrity and yes full of love for Women and equality.
We will not reward Obama for the vile way he and his thugs killed the Democratic party.

More Swiftboaters wanting to attack Obama… I want to hear from former Naders Raiders types and communists who now support John McCain
Don’t you Republicans have any imagination?

I found BOTH Hillary Clinton & Barack Obama to be exciting candidates. Both embodied values the Democratic Party upholds far more rigorously than the Republican Party. I liked Hillary’s health care plan more than Obama’s, but found her waffling on Iraq to be problematic. I ended up voting for Obama after he received several key endorsements that I respected. Had Hillary won the nomination, I would have GLADLY worked for her campaign & voted for her. I suspect the few so-called HRC “supporters” who are hurling threats of mutiny at the convention, making up stories of “stolen” elections & “hijacked” nominations are almost delusional. Anyone who says he/she is an HRC “supporter” and is voting for McCain is beyond stupid. Ironically enough the Republicans SALIVATED at the thought that Hillary the “feminazi b***h, radical gay-loving liberal” would get the nomination, now they castigate Obama as the “radical, scary negro out to get ‘whitey’.” PUMA Dems are nothing but white McCainites who probably have Bush posters in their closets.

If Obama becomes president the Arabs, Muslims, Jihadists, etc. will be celebrating is the streets just like they did on 911.
In the Muslim world, if your father is Muslim, so are you. Them Osama says that he will get the troops out of Iraq. That will give our enemies time to regroup and all the progress made to date will be for nothing. If we leave now we have lost the war. Our enemies will view us as weak. Leaving Isreal at risk. That is a bad decision.

This is how people vote. Men will vote for a man before they vote for a woman. Women will vote man or woman basied on issues or ability. The Race vote, people will vote for their own race first. Polls show 95% of Blacks voted for Obama. Religion, Muslims see Obama as a Muslim, he has there vote.
In short people vote on someone that they can identify with first. Issues come in second.

It is sexist for women to vote for a woman simply because she is a woman.. Which is quite obvious what many American women are planning to do…
Just as it is racist for an African American to vote for Barrack because they are the same colour…
If you are a women who previously supported Hillary and now support McCain/Palin you are either sexist or racist… Let me explain why…
Clinton and Obama are almost identical with their political agendas, while McCain/Palin offer very different policies than Hillary..
If you switched from a Clinton supporter to McCain then you are simply doing so because you don’t like Obamas race or are voting for Palins gender..Which is quite frankly pathetic
Race, gender and religon should not even be a factor when you decide to vote, you really need to listen to the policies on offer and vote what is best for you!!!
